I just bought the ARC SL refurbished from the last deal on here and it just came in yesterday I'm a bit picky on sound I got a home theater atmos system and trying to get away from that now as I'm getting older 😅 to save more space in my house and when I plugged in the Sonos It was amazing for a sound bar but don't expect it to rock your world but (everyone has a different experience of course so keep that in mind) I feel Sonos is great for a small living room or bed room or someone that is not that big on sound but want to have that atmos experience with great sound stage at a much simpler and elegant way. I would say if you live in a apartment this would be recommended 💯…unfortunately for me I'll most likely return mine and go with the Vizio elevate you get everything for about $800 or less if you find it on sale and you get about the same atmos sound stage but a bit better because you get the side speakers and a 8" sub for about same price as buying just the Sonos sound-bar…compared to the Sonos way you would have to pay $750 (Sonos sub) to get some actual bass for music listing or to enjoy that rumble when watching movies and about $179 for each Sonos one SL or if you go with just the one it's about $149 each to enjoy that surround sound. So I hope this helps out making your decision good luck 👍
If you're in the fence because of the cost. Cry later. The sound of the ARC is unbelievable. I bought mine new $932. Recently added the sub mini and ones and wow!!!! Do it!
Do soundbars like these have space for upgrades (looking forban eventual subwoofer + 2 sides)? Seems like a good deal if it's originally $900 brand new but I'm only a beginner

I'd say Sonos is among the best for building up your system piecemeal. Get a soundbar now, add a sub, add some surrounds, etc, as time and budget allows. Sonos is sort of the Apple of the audio world -- with the same good and bad points (price premium, etc) -- but they do well to work simply and easily among the same ecosystem.
The only downside to the Arc soundbar is the lack of connectivity. If you have a shiny new TV with an eArc HDMI port, probably a non-issue. If you have a slightly older TV with a normal Arc HDMI port, there is compromise in terms of full Atmos support (which you may/may not care about, and which can be supplemented with a $300 HD Fury device if you really want to). If you have no HDMI Arc support at all (typically < 2015 or low end TVs), there is a HDMI-to-optical dongle included.
