Great price but most of the reviews state it isnt consistant speeds and has frequent drops.

I wonder if this is portable as long as you have an oulet for power?
I tested one for the 2 week trial period. It worked and was registered at my house, but I took it 3 hours away to my parents and used it there with no issues. Just plug it in and it works like cell service. I have no idea though if there are and limitations how far away it can be from your registered address.

I found after trying to get this service to work for me that the greatest thing it offers is pressure on other services to lower their prices. We had fiber offers and now cable offers better than they have been in years!! After months, the throttling just made it unusable for high speed. TMHI has lowest priority in their system when it comes to tower usage.

It has always been like that with cable/internet provider. After 1-2 yr, you geta HUGE bill surprise.

We used our T-Mobile 5G Gateway in our RV/Motorhome, when we park in different locations. Haven't tried while driving tho.

Speed depends on distance from tower, location in the building, congestion at the moment etc.

From what I have read, you need to call T mobile if you move to a new address.

It is only a "surprise" to those who don't read agreements. Regardless, given I have cable internet at an early 2000s price, who cares. Before price lock is over, will look at what is available then. Not like TMHI is ever going to get to charge more than $50 unless their service improves ALOT and that is VERY unlikely in 2-3 years.

Not a hotspot. It's geo fenced
No it is not. They have flip flopped on this a bit in the past two years. The account has to be in a supported area but once activated can be brought wherever with unpredictable results. Terms used to not really declare anything, then changed to fixed location, and now "call and let us know the new location". But it has never been fenced.

You should probably be using a VPN regardless. I have my T-mobile phone setup to connect my VPN when I disconnect from my home network, so I'm not throttled while streaming video. Torrenting over a VPN on TMHI should be fine. An even better solution is real-debrid. I haven't used torrenting software in over a year since subscribing to real-debrid. It's dirt cheap, bypasses the need to pay for a VPN, and much faster.
