Great price but most of the reviews state it isnt consistant speeds and has frequent drops.

I wonder if this is portable as long as you have an oulet for power?
I had this from its inception, originally it wasn't too bad-as time went on the signal got worse and buffered like nuts, 3 TV's a pc and phone. I finally gave up after 7 months and terrible to non-existent customer service. The price is definitely tempting, btw, their newer modem was worst than their first, I had a pc fan underneath to cool it down, no difference.
If true it's a no brainer. I have the service. You can expect 100mbs-300mbs. Down time nonexistent.

So if later you switch your phone service from T-Mobile to different provider, what would happen to the T-Mobile internet price?
dont think anyone knows. I asked several times. Hopefully someone contacts Tmobil and has a definitive answer. Price stays the same but i'm not sure you can keep internet if you port out from Tmobil and have a cell with them

How do you track down the nearest towers to you? Thinking of switching to tmo for cell service and this just might be the push I need to pull the trigger.
I did a Google search of cell tower ownership. It can be murky as most towers don't say "ATT" or pick any carrier. A lot of them seem to be owned by corporations. The one behind my home is owned by Mobilecomm.

Wonder if I activate a 2nd Internet under a different address that some of the phones on my plan are on, if I can then cancel the T-Mo internet I have at another address and then change the address on the $25/mo internet to where I canceled the existing service.

Edit: Well scratch that, just read the CNET article again and they amended it.

"After earlier telling CNET that multiple lines on an account could sign up for the offer -- such as a family plan where not everyone still lives together -- the carrier said on Wednesday that the deal will be limited to one Home Internet line per account. "
Link? I can't find it says that anywhere..

I have a TMO 5GUC tower about 100 yards from my home. I get about 600-700MB down and 150-200 up. May be worth a shot.
This is a nice plan if you have 5GUC in your neighborhood. Such a good deal. Congrats!

yeah this was an underrated positive back when i had it. you have one box with one power cord only, vs nasty coax that doesnt bend at right angles, and a router and a modem with cable. and being tethered to 2-3 coax locations in the house. feels like the future in that respect. if you want to wire your bedroom pc direct with ethernet move it next to your pc. if you'd rather wire your xbox direct in the living room, put it in the living room.
out of curiosity i plugged T mobiles router into a power bank and drove around and kept consistent coverage which is awesome industries have moved up still capping around 100 mbps but my fiber speeds do require a router that has to connect to a specific box.

They're talking about connecting to the modem/router, not to the "service" itself. 5G has nothing to do with your internal LAN.
...how would you connect a 5G to "service" with a physical line? It is all wireless just like your 5G phone. No one is talking about internal home network connections. Obviously you connect a router to a modem with a physical network cable. Nothing different with TMobile 5G modem/router.
