Great price but most of the reviews state it isnt consistant speeds and has frequent drops.

I wonder if this is portable as long as you have an oulet for power?
I had this from its inception, originally it wasn't too bad-as time went on the signal got worse and buffered like nuts, 3 TV's a pc and phone. I finally gave up after 7 months and terrible to non-existent customer service. The price is definitely tempting, btw, their newer modem was worst than their first, I had a pc fan underneath to cool it down, no difference.
If true it's a no brainer. I have the service. You can expect 100mbs-300mbs. Down time nonexistent.

I have a TMO 5GUC tower about 100 yards from my home. I get about 600-700MB down and 150-200 up. May be worth a shot.
What if towers are busy when everyone ditches xfinity (like me)? will you get priority or throttled?

Been a TMO internet customer since last Summer (former Xifinity cust) and have been pretty satisfied.

If you live in a urban area with really good TMO service then their Internet service is a no brainer. I live in the Chicagoland area and consistently get 125-300 down and 50-60 up depending on the time of day.

If you live in a rural area then this may not be the best solution.

I tried Tmobile home internet a month ago. For me speed was around 300-400 mbps probably because tower might be near or straight sight.
The problem was every night, we experience throttling. So I moved back to Cox.

Anyone know the speed of internet for this plan ?
I believe it's 5G. I think it's translates to approx. 200-300mbps. I actually just got it while waiting for our ziply to be installed . So far it's not bad. It has some issues with reliability and needs to be reset or messed with every few days. Overall solid service for where I live.

Very strange that they say the service is not available in my area now (near Boston, MA) even though when I checked a few months back they said it was. Anyone else seen this, I imagine I will just have to keep trying if it's some internal glitch unless for some reason they have removed my area from the service.
You need to rethink what they mean by not available. Each cellphone tower can only handle so many devices. And likely in your area, there are too many Tmobile cellphone user and home internet user already and probably use up their maximum cellphone tower capability. Meaning their infrastructure can't handle additional tmobile devices/users anymore without big impact to existing customer.

It doesn't mean they removed your area from service. It just mean their infrastructure can't handle more users in your area. Even if you somehow get around the requirement and signup, the speed in your area won't be as good when your area is "full".

I'm pretty sure someone on Magenta paying $60/month for their cell service will get priority...

You can use Nest wifi as your router with this correct? I assume you can but then I read about all the restrictions with ports or whatever so now I am not sure.

Says - not available in my area -
any workarounds ?
Each cellphone tower can only handle so many devices. And likely in your area, there are too many Tmobile cellphone user and home internet user already and probably use up their maximum cellphone tower capability. Which is likely reason it is not available in your area.

Even if you somehow get around the requirement and signup, the speed in your area won't be as good when your area is "full". And if there are enough people do that (like someone post a way to get around this), expect Tmobile home internet get very slow if Tmobile can no longer control how many people signup in certain area so there are a lot more users than the cellphone tower can support.

So anyone post any kind of workaround will likely hurt their own home internet performance if everyone start taking advantage of that in their area.

I only want the internet. i am not and have never been a Tmo customer. What is the cheapest possible voice line that could qualify to get this deal?
I was told the lag is terrible for any VOIP service. Surfing is fine if you have a nearby tower.

Google it. They have a map.
I did. My house is covered by 5G but their map doesn't tell me how close I am to a tower.

I tested one for the 2 week trial period. It worked and was registered at my house, but I took it 3 hours away to my parents and used it there with no issues. Just plug it in and it works like cell service. I have no idea though if there are and limitations how far away it can be from your registered address.
This is the answer I was looking for. Thanks & Repped! I have homes both North & South that I move between at different times of the year & would like to transfer the device with me. Your answer leads me to believe this option is plausible. I will test it out.

Some people also said that Tmobile may give someone a "grace period" in case they are moving. And after certain amount of days/weeks, once the "grace period" is up, they will disable the device if it is not in their "home" location. So if you only stay at the other places for few days, it may works but really depend on latest T-mobile policy. Need to remember Tmobile can keep track of what cellphone tower(location) your device is connected to so they know where the device is located.
