Great price but most of the reviews state it isnt consistant speeds and has frequent drops.

I wonder if this is portable as long as you have an oulet for power?

I had this from its inception, originally it wasn't too bad-as time went on the signal got worse and buffered like nuts, 3 TV's a pc and phone. I finally gave up after 7 months and terrible to non-existent customer service. The price is definitely tempting, btw, their newer modem was worst than their first, I had a pc fan underneath to cool it down, no difference.

If true it's a no brainer. I have the service. You can expect 100mbs-300mbs. Down time nonexistent.

The device comes largely pre-configured out of box, with the intention of the customer using the App to finish out the setup. IIRC, when I first powered up mine I was able to get immediate internet access over the pre-configured WiFi.

It also should come with a short Cat5e cable if you want to directly connect to a laptop/desktop, or to your own Router, Switch, or Access Point.

If you do not want to use 'the App' to set it up, you can connect over WiFi or Ethernet and configure it 'mostly like a normal router'. (navigating to the Gateway's IP, entering the login info from the printed sticker on the bottom, etc.)

Tmobile internet is great for back up internet. I downgraded my optimum internet plan to little lower speed and added tmobile home internet. I use TP link Omada ER605 gateway router. With that router I can merge two different WAN. Now I have redundancy in Internet also. Tmobile is giving around 100 to 150mbps speed.

I'm currentyl using this service in my home because builder forgot to route cable to the home, yes you heard it correct that they forgot. anyway if you are not living in the rural getting this doesn't make sense because it's limited 5G connection, the max speed you can get is 180ish mbps if you are in ideal condition. as you can guess you will probably not in ideal condition at all and the average speed is about 50-60ish mbps. any cable internet in the city can beat this speed. but if you are thinking that 50-60mbps is good for you this is the best deal you can get because usually cable provider prices start from $40 for their slowest package.

again, even though they are marketing it as 5G, this doesn't give you 5G speed at all. this has cap and if I'm not mistaken it's 180mbps max.

Very strange that they say the service is not available in my area now (near Boston, MA) even though when I checked a few months back they said it was. Anyone else seen this, I imagine I will just have to keep trying if it's some internal glitch unless for some reason they have removed my area from the service.

We are heavy users, work from home, streaming, and kid's gaming on consoles. Think we will try this, especially if they still offer the $100 to switch. Figure that gives us 4 months "free" and plenty of time to see how it works before we switch from fios.
