Great price but most of the reviews state it isnt consistant speeds and has frequent drops.

I wonder if this is portable as long as you have an oulet for power?
I had this from its inception, originally it wasn't too bad-as time went on the signal got worse and buffered like nuts, 3 TV's a pc and phone. I finally gave up after 7 months and terrible to non-existent customer service. The price is definitely tempting, btw, their newer modem was worst than their first, I had a pc fan underneath to cool it down, no difference.
If true it's a no brainer. I have the service. You can expect 100mbs-300mbs. Down time nonexistent.

We just installed this in our household, and it is absolutely terrible, even with 86+ mbps download and 30+ mbps upload. The big problem--latency!

For FPS games, I'm teleporting all the over the place. For movies on my OLED, it makes it look like whatever is less than 480p. It'll look good when it's running fine, but the buffering and random lag spikes in between makes it too unstable to enjoy, at least in my area.

Basically YMMV, but please do research because others on T-Mobile's forum and Reddit have reported this same issue. Those reports are also a year or a few months old, so this problem still persists.

For those that only need the most basic internet--and they don't care about latency issues--then this is probably a good deal for you.

Speedtest.net test

Speed test before with Cox:
287.29 download
9.69 upload
10 ms Ping

Speed test after with T-Mobile:

86.06 download
30.52 upload
170 ms Ping
Not trying to be a jerk, but it didn't work out for YOU. This service is the definition of Your Mileage May Vary. Even between you and your next door neighbor. Tower location, available bands, and router/modem placement are important.

My results:

Speedtest.net test app, iPhone 14 Pro, T-Mobile Home Internet, Arcadyan KVD21 modem/router, connected to my personal Orbi RBK50 mesh router:

403mbps download
67.8mbps upload
20ms ping

Speedtest.net test app, iPhone 14 Pro 5G UC, T-Mobile Magenta Max:

510mbps download
5.75mbps upload
41ms ping

Me personally, I hope no one signs up that connects to my tower. I've had it since May 2022. $30 per month with Magenta Max. My speeds do increase late night and also during the day when everyone goes to work. Teams via VPN, streaming Netflix, Hulu, Disney Plus work fine for me. Xbox, PC, and Switch multiplayer is decent. I have no complaints.

T-Mobile is offering home internet service with a modem and Wi-Fi 6 router for $25 a month for life, no long term commitment. It may be a game changer for some, for others it isn't. If it isn't, cancel the service and move on. I wouldn't recommend canceling your existing service until you have thoroughly tried it out.

My boss lives in BFE and was connecting to the work VPN via hot spot on a work issued iPhone 8 Plus. It was horrible. She signed up for T-Mobile Home Internet and loves it. She is finally able to participate on Teams without dialing in, including video.

AT&T is finally laying fiber in my zip code. Once it is available at my address I am signing up. There is no comparison. But I am grateful for the service T-Mobile has provided me at my address. My previous provider was bought out and the multiple daily outages were preventing me from doing my job. They offered to lower my existing gig cable internet to $30 a month to stay. I heard about T-Mobile Home Internet and signed up. Tried it for a month, then canceled my existing service. No regrets.

I've been with T-Mobile since 2005. This deal doesn't exist as advertised by the OP. Home internet is available in my area and I get 5GUC in my home. That said T-Mobiles overall customer service is abysmal. When they made the business decision to toss technical competency for "diversity", customer service has only gotten much worse. 🤞 You get India as state side reps are about as helpful as a screen door in a submarine and they know it. Don't like those facts, don't be a ridiculous woke person.

I do have four unlimited lines for $120 and no complaints about their network.

Update: I called T-Mobile directly and with my simple choice plan because I have never had internet service from them I qualify for the $25 off for life which is $25 a month today and no activation or any additional upfront fees for me. I am in the Tampa area about 5 mi from the University of South Florida. Also, the rep indicated that she had no idea that this promotion existed and in her words it just started.

Don't see this offer on their home page. I do see the $100 prepaid card though .. wonder if that stacks, assuming I can get this to work.
Probably no,because the offer on the $100 is 2022 HINT10,when the internet was added, the promotion was listed as 2022HINT18.

Just called and they couldn't find any such deal at this time. Best they could offer was $10 off per month for life and a $100 gift card. Also person I spoke with was in South Carolina and not India if that matters to anyone.

Magenta military is still $50 for me.
This is fake news, folks!
I'm also Magenta military, also came up as $50 for me, and I'm chatting with a rep now to get it done.

I wish I had 100% confidence in the chat reps, but with no fee to try it, will give it a chance.

No such deal. I called T-Mobile and they say the only promotion he sees is the $20 off magenta max plan. No deal as $25 that the op has posted. Fake news!!!!!!

I agree. I'm on the TM One Military plan still but have been looking for a cheap failover internet service since I work from home.

$40 on Simple choice.

I think this "deal" is probably only for Magneta and Magneta Max plans.
well thats annoying. CNETs headline title states "no magenta max plan required"

Just got a call back and the deal is live now - on simple choice plan as well. Said there was an activation fee that was waved.

So I placed an order for it this morning via telephone and got the 25.mo (not 20) although I do have an autopay I do not have magenta max. I was also told that I was eligible for the 100.00 promo visa gift card. Also, I signed up for a different address for the router than my home address without any problems
