Great price but most of the reviews state it isnt consistant speeds and has frequent drops.

I wonder if this is portable as long as you have an oulet for power?
I had this from its inception, originally it wasn't too bad-as time went on the signal got worse and buffered like nuts, 3 TV's a pc and phone. I finally gave up after 7 months and terrible to non-existent customer service. The price is definitely tempting, btw, their newer modem was worst than their first, I had a pc fan underneath to cool it down, no difference.
If true it's a no brainer. I have the service. You can expect 100mbs-300mbs. Down time nonexistent.

can i as new customer buy new phone line and home internet and later cancel phone line
You can, but you will lose the $25 bill credit, so home internet would Cost you $50 per month after cancelling the voice line connected to the account.

Had tons of issues with the service. Could not stream with Xbox, there are several forums detailing why it won't be fixed. Customer Service will tell you that a tower in your area is being updated no matter what your issue is. If you value your sanity, do some research before going with their internet.

The modem/router says it's Mesh Compatible...anyone know which access points are compatible to create a mesh at home using this as the main router?

Definitely worth a consideration for most people, especially if you can get it at this price point, however be sure to not get rid of your current internet service immediately to make sure that it works for you. I made the jump to t-mobile internet after getting tired of comcast higher prices, which have now significantly gone down do to competition. I have had inconsistent service initially with t-mobile, speeds all over the place from 10-350 down and 1-30 up, for the first couple of months. I tried everything from locating the device throughout the house to spending hours upon hours with their out-sourced technical support. I had actually made plans to actually go back to comcast, which was offering a significantly better plan than I had with them before, plus my wife was about to kill me. However, at a certain point they (t-mobile) must have updated their tower, because my speeds are now consistantly around ~250-350 up and ~30 down (ping ~25) for the last several months and now I have decided to stay. So for now, I am staying with t-mobile and only recommending that people wanting to try the service not make a jump without having a backup plan. Hope this helps those thinking about trying the service out.

During the week, it was blazing fast. Every evening and weekend it turned to absolute garbage. If there was a big event on town, I'd completely lose service. Two towers, one offering five bars, the other offering four. Also, off you do try it, make sure you get a receipt when you return the equipment. You WILL get conflicting instructions from the store and their call center. They will keep billing you for the service, and they won't return that extra billing.

Have 2 line all in one promo.Got this setup by calling without any issue.
However, now I see a new line added to my account with a new phone number. Confusingly, the details of this number say T-Mobile home Internet.

I also don't see the hint discount.Only the auto pay.

t's gonna be a support call day tomorrow , sigh

I'm in the same boat. I'm thinking the new line is for the gateway. I'll wait until I'm all setup and see if I need to contact support.
Got this text msg - Congrats! You will receive your promotional service discount from T-Mobile as long as you maintain eligibility. View t-mo.co/activity for account details.

I was able to get the unlimited 5g home internet for $25 per month lifetime ( I already have 3 phones with t-mobile and I have a t-mobile service discount through my employer) I confirmed that it is unlimited data and no contract not setup or equipment fees and got a $100 gift card coming below is the chat transcription for those interested in the nitty gritty: I don't understand the no power backup deal he was offering but I declined it (see below for his explanation of the offer)

woo hoo. amazing deal.

Sweet!

Since we are getting into the season of unpredictable weather, I would definitely suggest adding on a backup source of internet in case of a power outage that would be portable everywhere you go! What I'm going to do for you is get you both the router and the hotspot device~ FREE to you- we cover the cost of the hotspot device monthly. It would come with it's own data line, giving you 2GB of high speed data immediately, then unlimited slowed data thereafter. This bundle also includes a Universal Battery power station 20K! This battery features a 20,000 mAh large internal battery, it juices up your smartphones, tablets, and other USB-enabled devices, and holds up to 73+ hours of battery life which can also be used to power other wireless devices. All of this INCLUDING your home internet would only be $65 per month INCLUDING all taxes and fees. TODAY it would only be the sales tax. minus the $25 promo $40 a month Then $35 in 12 months. How does the mobile internet combo sound?
Bob|22:01 PM
I'm also waiving your set up fees today. Have a rare promo for that.
Bob|22:01 PM
Will price lock on the pricing too. So it won't change after some bogus intro period.
Bob|22:01 PM
Any questions?
You|22:03 PM
I am confused what the difference is between the $25 one I was asking about and this $40 one.
You|22:03 PM
The $25 one I wanted is a home internet hotspot with unlimited data right?
Bob|22:05 PM
I'm glad you are asked. That is what I'm here for. I can get you unlimited 5G $50 month -$25 discount = $25 All internet requires power. I can give you a hotspot through 24 monthly credits. You just pay $10 a month for unlimited with the first 2GB at high speeds to get some back up if you lose power and to use for internet on the go. Then there is a mophie power charger for $5 a month, no interest for only 12 months. In the even of a power outage you use that to charge your hotspot and router and cell phones. That way you have service.
Bob|22:05 PM
Is that deal more clear for you?
Bob|22:09 PM
We can start with just the internet if you would like.
You|22:09 PM
I think so, does the regular internet slow down after 2 gigs or just the backup?
Bob|22:10 PM
good question. Absolutely not. fully unlimited high speed 5G
You|22:10 PM
Is there a contract for just the internet?
Bob|22:10 PM
Can't stop won't stop.
Bob|22:11 PM
Nope the uncarrier does not have contracts.
You|22:11 PM
Yeah I'm good with just the $25/month for unlimited 5G home internet.
Bob|22:12 PM
You can get a few more things like a free security camera that works with that or a free tablet as well. You just pay the plan. We pay the device. $20 for camera and $10 for free tablet plan.
Bob|22:12 PM
Either of those sound interesting?
You|22:13 PM
No, thanks just the $25/month 5G unlimited internet With the lifetime price lock and the $100 gift card if you can do that Smilie
Bob|22:13 PM
I can.
