Great price but most of the reviews state it isnt consistant speeds and has frequent drops.

I wonder if this is portable as long as you have an oulet for power?
I had this from its inception, originally it wasn't too bad-as time went on the signal got worse and buffered like nuts, 3 TV's a pc and phone. I finally gave up after 7 months and terrible to non-existent customer service. The price is definitely tempting, btw, their newer modem was worst than their first, I had a pc fan underneath to cool it down, no difference.
If true it's a no brainer. I have the service. You can expect 100mbs-300mbs. Down time nonexistent.

Thanks for the reply.
How long did it take for this "$25 of 2022 HINT P22" to show up in your account?
I am wondering if it'll show up in my account once I've actually received the device and activated the service.

admittedly I have not read through this entire thread but kept showing up as $50 for me. Chatted and got the $25. Anyone know if the 50% off youtube tv is still a thing?

Gonna setup PFSense with multiple gateways and load balancing to use this as a backup. Anyone here done that before and/or have any tips/tricks? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Neongold posted the same and he has not received the gateway modem. He said that he ordered around 7am from yesterday. So I'm guessing it is something around 24hours.

I think people should take what number people post with a grain of salt.

I think a lot of people forgot one thing, with this deal getting so popular, how many new users they think they will get in each cellphone tower area?

So if each area, the number of users get doubled because of 50% off in price, then the bandwidth per device will be divided by 2. So 200mbps will become 100mbps during peak hour and in some suburbs area may be even worse, etc.

As many posts before mentioned, the speed and ping varies by location. Location will play a huge role in stability and consistency of connection. Kind of like a "location lottery".

And when you add tons of new users because of this deal, the chance of winning this "location speed/ping lottery" is getting slimmer. And this deal likely has big impact to existing home internet users also.

Remember Tmobile doesn't guarantee the minimum speed you get. So don't cancel your old ISP right away. Try out few months first and then decide if this is right for you. Most of new users hopefully come within that time while the deal is still active so can get a better picture what kind of speed, ping, and disconnection, etc you get after those few months.

Hopefully with better equipment installed and 2g 3g replaced, we can get past the minimum 100Mb download speed for 5G. "the IMT-2020 standard (basically the 5G standard) is user experience data rate, which is the data rate experienced by users in at least 95% of the locations where the network is deployed for at least 95% of the time. By this measure, at a minimum of 100 Mbps, 5G should be at least five times faster than average 4G speeds."

I am getting this just to lock in the price and use it as backup since I get a few outages a year with my cable. Not sure how fast inflation will push the rate up but if 5G can improve closer to the theoretical speed of 20Gb download speed that will be great.

No data cap.
Grandfather plan can add this.

Confirmed $25/mo + $100 visa cc after sometime.

I get 4 out of 5 bars of 5G internet which translates to 400Mbps down and 50Mbps up. Slickdeals!!!
Is no data cap explicitly stated on their website?

Do you ever get slower speeds due to:

I ordered on Thursday morning and shipment is delayed to Monday arrival. Too many orders I guess. I have to called every year to get by cable internet rate reduced to $70/month else I will be paying $100. Getting this and hopefully the 5G will improved and replace my cable internet.

There are enough posts just in this thread that said they get into speed/ping and disconnect issues especially during peak hour and it is for something important like work from home (or online gaming, etc) that they switch back to other ISP.

If you have time, go read all the posts in this thread. Remember Tmobile doesn't guarantee the minimum speed you get. So don't cancel your old ISP right away. Try out few months first and then decide if this is right for you. Some router like ASUS higher end wifi router, tp-link omada router, Unifi router, etc support multiple WANs.

For example, I think ASUS higher end wifi outer support load balance balance mode or fallback mode for dual WAN(?)

Question those those who received the $25 promo and the $5 auto pay discount.
I was informed that the $5 auto pay discount applies to only the $50 regular price. Sound bogus. Is there a code that we can invoke to apply this $5 discount toward the $25 monthly payment?

TIA,
F

That's entirely not true. Initially, I received around 20mbs down 10 mbs up. That was almost 4 years ago during the pilot program in my area. For a few years now, I have been at 70 down 20 up. Just recently, I swapped to the new modem and installed a 4x4 MIMO antenna, and now I get 600 down and 40 up. And latency is low 20s also. It heavily depends on your area.. I live in the middle of nowhere with nothing but Amish neighbors as a reference, haha.
You have a tower nearby and your neighbors are helping by not doing anything lol

My spectrum is like $19.99 for 400 down and that's 100% consistently

The breakdown is as follows.

$55 Home Internet Service
-$25 Promo 2022 HINT P22 Bill Credit
-$5 Auto-Pay Discount
--------------------------------------------------------------
$25 Total out of pocket

The Auto Pay discount maxes at $40 per account, ie if you are already getting $40 of Auto-Pay discounts form other promos on other lines you won't get this promo's auto pay $5 discount.
