Great price but most of the reviews state it isnt consistant speeds and has frequent drops.

I wonder if this is portable as long as you have an oulet for power?

I had this from its inception, originally it wasn't too bad-as time went on the signal got worse and buffered like nuts, 3 TV's a pc and phone. I finally gave up after 7 months and terrible to non-existent customer service. The price is definitely tempting, btw, their newer modem was worst than their first, I had a pc fan underneath to cool it down, no difference.

If true it's a no brainer. I have the service. You can expect 100mbs-300mbs. Down time nonexistent.

Not true whatsoever. I've had it twice before and all streaming services worked.
Glad you had a different experience, but unfortunately true for me.

I'm getting 60-80 Mb/s in Los angeles with 5 bars, and it has already disconnected once and slowed to a crawl another time. Not a good fit for me

The plan and discount showed up after the device shipped. I ordered on 12/8. Device shipped 12/10. I got a text that the unit shipped. When I went in my online acct it was showing up. The first sentence of my previous post says what plan I have.
I feel like I'm blind… I totally missed that first sentence for some reason. Oops!

I bought the antenna from Amazon. It was pricey but worth it for us because of the improvement. You can always use it and return if it does not work as well for you.
For reference you can check Amazon for MIMO Panel Antenna Kit by Waveform | +9 dBi Gain | 2x2 600-2700 MHz | for 3G, 4G LTE, 5G Modems, Routers, & Cell Boosters | TS9, SMA, U.FL Adapters (Twin Cable)
Sorry, I'm bit late to the party.
How do you connect antenna exactly?
I have the "trash can", but I don't see an antenna port on it...
Do I need to remove case 1st? Peace

Just got it setup, the download speed varies from 30mbps - 330mbps and uploads is 4 - 15mbps from my iphone 14 pro max. But the numbers are so much lower when I did the test with my Samsung Galaxy s20 Fe. I don't know too much about the 5g network, is that normal about the speed being so much difference?
Download speeds over wifi on your phone don't represent the actual internet speed at your house... hardwire to a desktop or laptop and run speed test

Anybody tried setting up USB tethering over Android Smart Phone [asus.com] with 5G phone, since TMO gateway doesn't support bridge mode?
It'll it be double (or triple) NAT still, right?

I have TMO1900 router re-flushed into RT-AC68U.
I do understand, lots of router features won't work due double (or triple) NAT.
At least, it does ad blocking well enough.
And I do trust my router more, than TMO gateway somehow...

I wish, TMO just sell Public IP for few extra $ as an alternative to Carrier Grade NAT... Please

Any idea why they cut you off? I'm actually typing this on my tab that is using the FDFL sim card. Every month it gets re-upped. Just curious if there's anything I should look out for with it.
Not sure.
May be I didn't use it enough?
Out of the blue, I get an email that my # (even though it's a tablet) was disconnected.
Then a few months later they tell me that reconnected the number.
By then, it was too late, because I had given away the tablet.
Oh well. The tablet was slow and Android 6.

It was back when they changed the billing system or something and he didn't get it turned back on. It affected lots of people and it was annoying, but I wouldn't use that as a basis for judgment
How was I suppose to "turn on" something I wasn't paying for?
It was a T-Mobile mistake turning it off a FREE data for life.
They disconnected/discontinued the telephone number associated with the tablet.
You still need a telephone number even if the tablet can't take phone calls.
You scoff if you like, but I wouldn't bank on "for life" with T-Mobile.

Was trying to find the link to letters with examples of what to put in there but couldn't find the old slickdeals thread. Will post it later if I find it.
TY! I *THINK* they actually fixed it. Got a bunch of texts including removing the wrong promo and the application of the correct one. Account now shows the $25 promo (p22) and the $10 one (p10) is no longer on acct. Will see if it passes muster tomorrow. I am testing it now and posting from it. (Modem arrived this afternoon) As I am wfh, this will be a backup for fiber outages (rare so far) and might bring it along when we travel in our RV.
