Great price but most of the reviews state it isnt consistant speeds and has frequent drops.

I wonder if this is portable as long as you have an oulet for power?
I had this from its inception, originally it wasn't too bad-as time went on the signal got worse and buffered like nuts, 3 TV's a pc and phone. I finally gave up after 7 months and terrible to non-existent customer service. The price is definitely tempting, btw, their newer modem was worst than their first, I had a pc fan underneath to cool it down, no difference.
If true it's a no brainer. I have the service. You can expect 100mbs-300mbs. Down time nonexistent.

I tried to get them to switch my $30 to $25 for TMHI and they refused. Not exactly fair for current customers. But its just $5 so not a big deal.
I do you think those of us paying $50 feel?

May I ask to clarify a bit more, please?
I have an impression, the antennas are shared between LTE and WiFi.

It looks like the 4x4 MIMO Log Periodic Antenna Kit [waveform.com] is directional.
I.e. when mounted on the wall and pointed to the TMO tower to get best LTE signal, it might affect WiFi reception behind the antenna / behind the wall it's mounted on.

Am I wrong about both? Confused
For you or anyone else that may attempt this through this offer; note that this gateway is essentially a lease since you have to return/exchange it when you cancel service or it dies over time or there is a new model that comes out that you can exchange it for. T-Mobile may charge you a fee for altering the device since the warranty sticker will be torn or missing. Just beware, not saying it'll happen but it could and you'll be stuck paying for it.

For those that see: "Home Internet Unlimited is not available at your address yet, but Internet Lite might be the right fit for you!"

Enter your info on that screen that you want to be contacted when High Speed Home Internet is available in your area.. A knowledgeable rep will contact you and help you get around this issue.

If you want this, and have great 5GUC phone speed in your home don't give up. Search a different service address to use as it will stay in your data for them to see, put back your real address in search, then enter your contact info on address lookup page. Worked here just now. Worse that happens is you get slow speed and return router after testing, no charges.

Does the gateway shipment from UPS require a signature?
This might depend on where you live.

The order says signature may be required. When I ordered one over the summer, I didn't have to sign. I ordered again and says the same thing .

It probably depends on where you live. I am sure UPS has metrics on areas that have a high theft rate in which case maybe they make you sign for it.

Sorry, I'm bit late to the party.
How do you connect antenna exactly?
I have the "trash can", but I don't see an antenna port on it...
Do I need to remove case 1st?
Yes for the one I bought you have to remove the case and take off the factory antenna and plug in the external. I think most would require that also to get the signal. A repeater is not going to increase signal, it will only repeat what you have so to get the best reception you need an outdoors antenna. This is not require for everyone as many people will have adequate reception. I am on the edge of the tower "bubble" so I added the externals and it has been rock solid. You can check the towers in your area using cellmaper.net

Are there ways to improve the ping? My son says that the lag playing rocket league is pathetic? TIA

I'm sure this has probably been answered before, but didn't see anything spot checking the 100+ pages….but does this work with the Sprint advantage accounts?

Got it!
I'm curios, how many bars "the trash can" shows before and after installing antenna?
I would assume, it does show better signal with antenna, right?
Mine shows 3 red bars.
Thanks!

Got it.
So it's "sort of trade" off between better speed and potential fee on return...

Wait. The price lock is only 10 years? Where in the fine print it says that?

It doesn't. People are only saying that because a company saying something is "for life" is pretty meaningless. T-Mobile can go bankrupt and then there goes your lifetime $25 internet (for example).

No. It's suppose to be as long as you have it and not cancel. But things always happen and doesn't last more than 10 years based on the free data for life scenarios.

I've had this for at least 6 months and zero complaints. I think I've had to restart the modem a couple times when it was down. This is huge if true, but this line from the article linked above sucks for me:

https://tmo.report/2022/12/t-mobi...-for-life/

Would love to save $300/yr on internet.
I'm in the same boat. Dumped Xfinity ($100 a month for just internet) back in May/June 2022.

I don't miss Xfinity at all, as I get up to 400Mbps with Tmobile vs Xfinity almost 100Mbps
