Great price but most of the reviews state it isnt consistant speeds and has frequent drops.

I wonder if this is portable as long as you have an oulet for power?

I had this from its inception, originally it wasn't too bad-as time went on the signal got worse and buffered like nuts, 3 TV's a pc and phone. I finally gave up after 7 months and terrible to non-existent customer service. The price is definitely tempting, btw, their newer modem was worst than their first, I had a pc fan underneath to cool it down, no difference.

If true it's a no brainer. I have the service. You can expect 100mbs-300mbs. Down time nonexistent.

is it prepaid $20 plan ?
I don't believe so. It is called the Unlimited Talk and Text plan but again it has no data. I just looked under the plan profile on my online account and it does show it comes with Paramount Plus for a year as well. I didn't see it available online but chat can provision the plan during activation.

I had that plan for a Costco deal earlier this year, it is correct that it should only have talk + text but it definitely had 3G data and I wasn't the only one on the thread who did

Got my modem today. It's the Sage with 1.0.16 firmware.

I get 300-400mbps down, 40-50mbps up when connected directly to the router via WiFi in the same room.

I am getting about half that when connected to one of the ethernet ports.

I guess this is a known issue. Hope a firmware update fixes it.

The T-Mobile mobile app to control the router is the biggest piece of feature limited shit I've ever used, though. About the only thing you can do is change the password and SSID.
Can you enable guest mode?

I signed up for 3 lines and internet last Friday. So far my internet line still doesn't show the promo added. I chatted support and they said I qualified for it, but concerned it's not showing, Anything I can do at this point other than waiting 2- 3 months like Tmobjle is saying to do?
On the same boat, added the line on Thursday through T-Force. All you can do is wait and pray you don't have to waste more time later we T-Force and that it gets automatically applied.

If you go back and read all the posts in this thread, there are enough people mentioned their speed was pretty good for the first few months and afterward, the speed got worse (or more discount issues). So up to you how long you want to test Tmobile internet before deciding it is good enough for you.

Since this deal is still going on, hopefully within few months after most of the new users signup start really using their Tmobile home internet, you will get a better picture what kind of speed, ping, and disconnection, etc you get after those few months.

And for someone that their cellphone and home internet are critical so can't loss both at the same time. If someone switch both their cellphone plan and their home internet to use the same Tmobile cellphone tower, if Tmobile infrastructure in their area is down or just the cellphone tower near them has problem, both your cellphone and home internet would be down at the same time and you won't be able to access internet or any VoIP/zoom/google voice, etc. And can't even contact Tmobile support to know what's going on.
But if you use someone else as internet provider, hopefully either Tmobile or your other internet service provider still work so you can contact the outside world.

It is highly recommended if you can't loss both your cellphone and home internet at the same time, make sure you have some kind of backup like a backup cellphone plan that use AT&T or Verizon network, etc so you can still contact the outside world or contact T-mobile service for support. Or if you work from home and in the middle of a meeting, you can quickly rejoin using your backup network device.
Ya. Thought about that. Lucky I have a work phone on Verizon with unlimited tethering. And spouse has a work phone on AT&T with unlimited tethering.

I had gone to the store to get my SIM card changed. Rep asked me if I was interested in getting the router and the $25 a month deal. I said yes and came home with the router. Getting speeds of 450 mbps on my S22 Ultra; 166 mbps on my Note 9. Both on the 5 GHz band.Didn't know wifi 6 had such a huge performance jump.
Did you pay 35 dollar assistance fee?

Agreed, they lied, don't wait. Should get it added right away. Wait 2-3 month is the game to push back and just mean that rep isn't willing to take ownership of the problem, they either don't know or didn't want to do their job.

Maybe try positioning your router to a different location in your house. Better yet you can buy an cell antenna and position on your roof. It could be your speed fluctuate bc it's switching to a more busy towers bc it has a stronger signal.

Not worth the hassle. Get the $10 one and keep it as backup

If a good cell antenna is $50 sure, but looks like the good ones are $400.
