Great price but most of the reviews state it isnt consistant speeds and has frequent drops.

I wonder if this is portable as long as you have an oulet for power?

I had this from its inception, originally it wasn't too bad-as time went on the signal got worse and buffered like nuts, 3 TV's a pc and phone. I finally gave up after 7 months and terrible to non-existent customer service. The price is definitely tempting, btw, their newer modem was worst than their first, I had a pc fan underneath to cool it down, no difference.

If true it's a no brainer. I have the service. You can expect 100mbs-300mbs. Down time nonexistent.

This had been working very well and was ready to ditch my current provider. Then sometime past Thursday evening the download speed went from 300+ to less than 100. This morning it is up to about 180. The only thing different is the weather change with a little snow. Wondering if the snow is the issue. I am in a tree lined depression about 1100 yards straight line from the tower. RSRP -113 and SINR 3 are both rated poor now while RSRQ -8 is excellent.

Honestly, the speed test measurements like the way you are doing is overrated and meaningless with a real-world usage. I rather have a low ping 100Mbit than high ping gigabit internet. If you dont feel any slowdown in every day browsing and video services are working, who cares?

And to answer your question, the weather conditions and changes may affect your speed. There are other external factors which could easily affect the quality of 4G/5G signals

Also, most college are off and most 1st to 12th grade probably just finished their final so everyone back home and allow to use internet as much as they want(?) Probably a good test now that all the college student are back home and using their home internet.

Beware that T-Mobile in recent months has changed the way they managed their mobile network, and this change has been wreaking havoc with authentication in many parts of the Interwebs. Essentially when you use this service your public IP address is always changing. You can never establish a secure authentication session because your session keeps getting invalidated by an ever-changing public IP address. See this T-Mobile thread for details: https://community.t-mobile.com/tv...ress-47250

I tried this back in September and the IP address was too dynamic so YTTV always thought I was traveling. It changed every ~12 hours or so.
Does anyone know if there is a way around this now? After talking with support, I wasn't able to get around this so I canceled it. Otherwise, it worked very well for me.

Can anyone tell me how to get my account migrated from Sprint to T Mo, so I can get this deal? We are getting the run around on chat. Should I just disconnect, & try another chat rep?

This is true. They "jumps" IP's from different locations. They shouldn't do this. IP should be "static".

It's more like every 30 seconds now, no joke.

And why should the IP be "static"? No internet provider that I know of offers static IPs to consumers, at least not without paying extra (and that is if they even offer it). Business customers are obviously able to get static IPs without problems.

The issue here is twofold. First, TMO's network is native IPv6 and requires translation for IPv4 addresses via CGNAT. The second issue at hand is that your gateway might be switching cell towers every so often, resulting in additional changes of your public IP.

Many people on the TMO forums report issues with Hulu live TV, smart DNS services and websites such as online banking kicking them out every so often because it seems to the server like the traffic was intercepted by a different computer. It's a PITA if you're affected, otherwise most people won't even notice. But the contention that an ISP has to provide static IP addresses to consumers is nonsensical.

I've had Tmobile home wifi for 6 months and been paying $50 monthly. I want to port my single voice line from AT&T to T-Mobile. I went to the store who had insider code for 20% off on max plan. But they say I don't qualify as a new customer because I've had the home wifi and never a voice line from T-Mobile.
I'm trying to get 20% off off voice line with the existing existing home wifi device. Hopefully get that for $25 too.
Anyone in similar situation? Reached out to T-Mobile chat but no use. They cannot get me 20% off on voice line and also not been able to get $25 home wifi.

open new acct under someone else name. Then cancel your $50 home wifi.

Good point. It's hard to find someone who can run credit for me. That's the reason I'm trying to get it on my own account.
