Great price but most of the reviews state it isnt consistant speeds and has frequent drops.

I wonder if this is portable as long as you have an oulet for power?

I had this from its inception, originally it wasn't too bad-as time went on the signal got worse and buffered like nuts, 3 TV's a pc and phone. I finally gave up after 7 months and terrible to non-existent customer service. The price is definitely tempting, btw, their newer modem was worst than their first, I had a pc fan underneath to cool it down, no difference.

If true it's a no brainer. I have the service. You can expect 100mbs-300mbs. Down time nonexistent.

What do you mean by "separate number Tl"? Is your watch plan part of a phone plan?
I have no separate phone plan. Just watch plan.

I've had the Sagemcom router (new service) for about a week and a half. So far, it hasn't picked up the new firmware, and it's still on 1.0.16.

Does anyone know how long to expect to wait for the 1.1.52 firmware update from T-Mobile?

This is true. They "jumps" IP's from different locations. They shouldn't do this. IP should be "static".
It changes everyday. Its been that way since inception.
Tools like that have no clue. It's not new.
It's how all cellular networks operate. It's called CGnat

can someone please dumb down and explain why this is such a great deal ?

Pretty much every time a deal for internet is shared, it becomes how many gigs, is it capped, and fiber.

I keep reading about drops and inconsistent speeds

What am I missing here ?

it's cheap and great speed for ppl who are close to a tower. No data cap is a plus. Also the upload speed is usually better than cable internet.

It's been 2 weeks since I signed up for this Tmobile Home Internet. The speeds are around 200 Mbps down and 25 Mbps up. Even then I am seeing connection drops, especially with my phones when connected to Wifi even though the speeds are showing good. I am not very happy, but for $25 I can't find anything better. Not sure how long I can manage with this. If it's too much trouble I will disconnect and look for another service promo.

I've had Tmobile home wifi for 6 months and been paying $50 monthly. I want to port my single voice line from AT&T to T-Mobile. I went to the store who had insider code for 20% off on max plan. But they say I don't qualify as a new customer because I've had the home wifi and never a voice line from T-Mobile.
I'm trying to get 20% off off voice line with the existing existing home wifi device. Hopefully get that for $25 too.
Anyone in similar situation? Reached out to T-Mobile chat but no use. They cannot get me 20% off on voice line and also not been able to get $25 home wifi.
sorry I am new to this. How to know if a store has insider code? Do you know what is the best way to find an insider code? Reddit? Thanks.

Experience for me is great! I get 300Mbs speed most of the time. Down time and slow speeds are very rare

About 70% of the people who qualify for this deal are able to achieve at least 70Mbps download/7Mbps upload and less than 30ms static ping time with this service. That's sufficient to handle 4K video streaming, gaming, video conferencing, and web browsing at the same time. Add another $80 for a good router if you need to fine tune bandwidth allocation to each device and achieve more robust WiFi coverage. You need this feature if one of the device is downloading torrent files.

Some users may see +500Mbps down/50Mbps up during off-peak hours. That will help if you share torrent files. My primary internet connection tops out at 11.2Mbps. I don't stream 4K video. There is no difference in performance when I'm connected to the T Mo unit, even at +500Mbps download speed. Only exception is with torrent file sharing.

5G signal does not penetrate well. Therefore, careful placement of the T Mo unit is critical to eliminate signal drop. 5 degree rotation can make a huge difference in stability. The speed drop during peak hours is irrelevant unless the transmission tower is over-subscribed with active users and the download speed falls below 20Mbps.

The cheapest internet service in my area charges $50 for 300Mbps download. I don't need 300Mbps. The T Mo unit delivers +200Mbps from 8pm to 4pm the following day. It's the best deal in town at $25.

Those who tout fiber line are probably making a living transferring large video files over the internet or are uninformed about the technology. A Corvette has 4x the horsepower of a Corolla, but it's not going to get you from A to B any faster than the Corolla (at least in CA).

That's the normal protocol if you are connected to one tower. It's possible that the software automatically switch over to a nearby tower, which could invoke an IP change.

It's a great deal for those that this service works well for.
It's also impossible to know whether or not it'll work well for you without trying it, since it varies by location and home layout.
If it works well with no issues like it has for me, then $25 a month for internet is a steal.

It's a little different than that, but you're right: The service provider's backbone is a lot more important than the link speed between you and the tower, or you and the SpeedTest app. I have 5G service to my mobile phone, and the SpeedTest reports are insane, like over 500 MBit/sec. But when using the Internet on that link, pages freeze all the time, because TMobile's backbone isn't as good as Comcast's.

Using the gateways wifi, when I configure the frequency band to Automatic (recommended) in the gateways settings under network, I get about 100 mbps...if I switch this setting to 5.0 GHz my download speed goes to 200-300 mbps. The problem I am running in to is both my Roku and firetv stick will only connect when the network setting is set to automatic because they require 2.4 GHZ I am guessing.
Any suggestions on this. TIA
