Great price but most of the reviews state it isnt consistant speeds and has frequent drops.

I wonder if this is portable as long as you have an oulet for power?

I had this from its inception, originally it wasn't too bad-as time went on the signal got worse and buffered like nuts, 3 TV's a pc and phone. I finally gave up after 7 months and terrible to non-existent customer service. The price is definitely tempting, btw, their newer modem was worst than their first, I had a pc fan underneath to cool it down, no difference.

If true it's a no brainer. I have the service. You can expect 100mbs-300mbs. Down time nonexistent.

Currently using T-Mobile gateway as a failover connection, ASUS RT-AC3100 and RT-AX82U
both support the function. I keep the wifi enable as way to quick test, but everything is managed by ASUS routers for DHCP/DNS/Failover.
Thanks for confirming. I'm currently using the RT-AC3100 and RT-AC66Us so plan to keep using those as my routers.

Anyone know beside ASUS router, what other router provide detail Traffic Analyzer indicate which MAC address used how much traffic and what's the top apps that MAC address use (like youtube, Google drive, facebook, SSL/TLS, etc) (for free with no additional cost as part of the router)

For example, does tp-link Omada or their router provide anything close to that?

Here's the demo of what ASUS router Traffic Analyzer looks like.

T Forced told me that I cannot get $25 home internet since I have my insider hook up 20%. He told me I either use 20% insider hookup or $25 home internet. If I use 20% home internet hook up, I have to pay $50 for home internet. They put the promotion code in, but it doesn't stick to my account? Does it happen to anyone?

Makes sense that they want you to pick one. They aren't going to give it to you for 50% off and then take another 20% on top of that.

I've been going over my data caps with xfinity the last few months getting charged over $100 more on top of my standard bill. The fact that this is cheaper, no data caps, and I can tell xfinity to F off is a big win.

I got this offer. So make sure you are in their excellent network coverage area. I am in excellent network are yet I am having to reset router 3-4 times a day. If you need internet which need to be consistent and drop could cause financial harm then I would suggest wait..

what phone plan you have?

I am currently in an annual prepaid phone plan with ATT that is a frontpage deal, I am also in a contract with Xfinity - I cant see how to get a TMO phone plan that would make it worth it
I know people claim "watch" plan but I think that is a huge YMMV

No. They said you have to choose either one 50% off home internet and they will remove 20% inside hook up for all the lines on my account or I can keep 20% insider hook up and pay $50 for home internet with discount

Sounds like they don't want to give multiple discounts. I'd keep the 20% off.

I have T-Mobile already for cell service and get decent coverage in my area so I'm thinking the home internet would work well enough for me. I'm most concerned how online gaming is gonna work but it's worth it to me to give it a try.

Xfinity wants me to pay an additional $30mo to remove the data caps, they can go F themselves.

Also needed to contact them every year for "promotional " discount, ridiculous. I ran away the first chance I got

Probably, as it worked doing that here.

What I did first was use the other address where it was available and started to place order. This put the other address in the system as mine as well (I think). Canceled at the final step. Later, the rep automatically saw that other address I had tried in the system, and even though I explained I only tested that "friends address", the rep told me he could used that address to sign up and still ship gateway to my real address. Service might be bad though. It would not affect billing, as they would still use real address. Rep also mentioned to later change service address to my real address, but it only shows my real address, so nothing to change.

The downside to this is that service in your real address might be limited or bad, perhaps due to too many users already. At least you get couple weeks to test yourself, and can cancel if it is not good. Am getting up to 500 speeds here in an area that was not yet available, am keeping gateway, and cancelled Frontier FIOS.
Thank you! I may do the same
