Just a warning, these are not bluetooth speakers, they are wifi speakers that require sonos app & compatibility. They do sound great and if you already invested into Sonos ecosystem, I think they are great. Otherwise it's a lot of headache.

They're also Airplay compatible, as all Sonos speakers are. (Not sure why they're a headache, either.)
From photos they seem ugly as hell. Maybe not so IRL?
No, they're really ugly in person too. I considered one for a while when I was at an IKEA store a couple months ago and eventually decided they were too ugly to use. Even with a different shade the bases just look really weird.
I used an adapter and extension similar to the ones below. Then use any lampshade you want. I used the extension so I can use a taller lampshade and looks more proportional to the base.
I have the old version (that looked like a mushroom before the redesign) as it fit my aesthetic well.
I think its the same speaker, just now a customizable lamp shade system, smaller overall footprint, and a power button instead of a knob. So thought I'd contribute my experience
- AMAZING speaker, especially for the price (mine was $150ish at closeout). Just great overall.
- I put in a Philips hue bulb so that I can change the color and the speaker with that makes it a great bedside lamp for all occasions and moods
- It was a weird bulb size (might not be true on this new model) and the power knob felt cheap (no longer relevant) but those are my only complaints! The rest of it is surprisingly amazing build quality especially for IKEA!

Yeah … there's IKEA quirky, which is usually okay, but I can't see this in any of my rooms. It's a bit too quirky

I bought just the lamp bases then used a different shade from elsewhere using a bulb mounted shade adapter. Fits my living room a lot better.
A few from reviews:
Melted inside
Good speaker, bad connection
Melted inside
Quirky look, average sound, unexpected power behavior

Can you share what parts did you use?
