I definitely prefer a touchscreen. Yes, that's greedy. But I don't need another cheap laptop.

Thanks for the detailed instructions! I'll check mine out later. I have window 10 bootable drive.
Would that work better so you don't have to deal with the TPM stuff?

Also how are the drivers for the microsd slot, microphone, speakers, TouchPad and keyboard backlight?
Coolstar.org has most of the Windows drivers you need for both Win10 or Win11

Touch screen =Works
Touch Pad =Works
Keyboard Backlight =Works -- you have to do CTRL-ALT-BrightnessUP to invoke it - but forgets state after a reboot so you have to turn it on again.

SD Card does sound like its recognizing a card when inserted - But I didn't see anything show up under Disk management or My Computer. So this might be a maybe - but i rarely use it

Built-in Camera Works (obviously anything attached to it will work with the appropriate windows drivers) tested with Facebook Messenger
Built-in Microphone works (i think - with coolstar drivers) -- but i use SteelSeries 7 headphones w/Mic on USB-C dongle

heres a quick demo of mine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rtvVu29egk

Just got it running. Keyboard lighting/lettering sucks big time. Trackpad is so-so. Everything else is very good. The screen brightness is above average. It's bright enough to use in daylight. Some of you may need eyes check or got a bad unit.

Happy with purchase.

very bad strategy as tech performance moves quick in laptops. In two years, a laptop will be cheaper and faster, so its better to upgrade often than to spend 3k on a laptop for 4 years . Simply it is better to buy new laptop for 1.5k every two years
Well, this model is 3 years old already Big Grin

Anyone know if this has an NVMe port internally? I don't see it in the specs. TIA
I opened mine and it doesn't look like it have any nvme port. Or anything you can connect at all. It seems like everything is on one board no expandability what so ever. But there is a microsd slot so you can definitely insert a microsdxc card and use that as the extra storage.

Was there any hidden screws in the rubber pads in back of the laptop? Or are all the screws the ones you can already see?

And SD cards not working in windows would be a big deal for me. So I'll see how a Linux distro will work. But I saw a comment that sound is not working in Linux 😵 💫

The days of hidden screws for write protection firmware is over. Now it's all in the chip. You just need to follow the new instructions on how to do it. You will still need to open it up to remove the battery using the new method. I'm going to try installing window 10 this weekend on it. If it works and window 10 performance is decent, this is a great way to get a window 10/11 laptop for dirt cheap!

EDIT: note for those who are opening their laptop, there is a screw hidden under the rear rear rubber feet of the laptop. You will need to remove the rubber feet and expose them. There are 2, one on each foot. There are no screws in the front feet.

I just got this in today. Not bad at all. I bought it for my in laws, I have a USB-C Docking hub for it. I plan on tossing their old PC that is super outdated and just hooking this up to their current monitor and keyboard. I already verified the dock will work and display with the lid closed.

Very good price for the specs but hoping for the 2-in-1 touchscreen one to go on sale. If you're going to use Android apps, a touchscreen is a must.

Oof, didn't realize that there was no audio support for other Linux distros. Guess I'll have to install Windows unless someone has some tips.
