I just received my drive. I had used PC Connection with a business account at a previous job, but this was my first personal purchase with them. I ordered it in the evening, and it was shipped out the next day. Pleased that I received it quicker than expected.

Good deal! $3 less than the FP one from yesterday: https://slickdeals.net/f/16286344-kingston-a400-tlc-3d-nand-2-5-sata-iii-ssd-480gb-28-240gb-18

I was hesitant even though the above-linked deal was an all time low, but I'm glad I waited.

I had no issues getting orders from PC Connection in the past; I bought the 1TB Crucial from them during the $49.95 promo and it came no issues so I'm happy to buy from them again.

Promo quantity showed 100 units when I ordered (there were comments in the Crucial thread about the number changing drastically within seconds/minutes).

Ended up ordering this one instead. Less per GB and 256 is a little limiting for most computers Kingston 480GB A400 SATA 3 2.5" Internal SSD SA400S37/480G - HDD Replacement for Increase Performance https://a.co/d/0CoePdb

Why do they inflate the nondiscounted price? Original price is $20, not $50. You're really saving just $6.

You get what you pay for. Trim is not supported, which slows down the drive when stuff is written and wears it out quicker.

Where do you see that the drive doesn't support trim? The link from Kingston's site below states that all of their SSDs support trim.

To anyone currently using this model (240gb), does it have any heat issues? I bought a couple cheap ADATA 240gb about 8 months back and they would get so hot I could not use them in my 11.6" laptops. They would quickly hit 120 to 125C after booting. TIA

Why do you say this? Virtually all modern SSDs support TRIM. I haven't encountered one made in the last decade that lacks this feature.

Read that from Amazon reviews back in 2019.

Isn't garbage collection different from Trim?

Amazon reviews are not a reliable source. There is an absolute TON of incorrect information in many of them. If you want me to look at a particular review, I'm going to need a link.

Secondly, it's unlikely that the hardware you get today will be the same as one sold in 2019.

Yes, TRIM helps garbage collection do its job more efficiently. I'm uncertain what point you're trying to make. Even that decade-old document says all Kingston SSDs support TRIM.
