How are these "beefier" if the max clamp force on these is 900lbs and the Jorgs are 1500lbs?

I'm going to venture a guess these were made by the same manufacturer as the Jorgensens. They look almost the same, even down to the rivet placement in the head, minus one for the TT model. Even the removable spacer that clips onto the bar has a similar spring/ring mechanism. Shape of the heads looks pretty similar. Internal plates in the head look similar, too. I'd say if you have the Jorgensens, stick with those. I went a little crazy upgrading from pipe clamps this year, so I'm sticking with what I got from the Lowes sale.

Then explain how they're beefier if we can't trust numbers.

That's interesting, Amazon shows the 2 pack of 24" Jorgs weighing half a pound more than the 2 pack of TayTools 24".

I measured them today with calipers. Turns out they are identical in dimensions for thickness of the bars, plates, and pins. The height of the bar from the work surface is the same as well. The main difference is the Taytools ones have a better mechanism that keeps the clamp from sliding into your hand when handling them. I also know that 731 woodworks on YouTube rated the Jorgensens below most of the others in his tests. Taytools was not tested IIRC. The Bremen, Jet, and Bessey clamps came out on top with poor showings from Irwin and Jorgensen.

Yep, saw that video and that was the reason I went out and bought the 48" Bremen set and I do like them slightly more than my 24" Jorgs.

This is all splitting hairs on which brand is best. All these brands are top notch and way better than any other clamp type for their respective application. Buy what is cheapest or the color you like the best! All are good Smilie
