However at this sale price, the JBL is a great deal. A good subwoofer for < $200 is a unicorn these days and that's what this JBL is. It's a good sub.
Five rooms in my house have subwoofers, unfortunately...I just don't know where I would hide this one from my wife.
Wait, 6 rooms with the garage. 11 subwoofer total, most are hidden/in-wall/ceiling. All synchronized with signal delays on Chromecast audios.
It will have inherent frequency limitations due to its size, sealed nature, and price point, so keep that in mind; its not really a home theater sub... A ported sub in that instance will generally give you much better output and lower extension, the JBL 550p drops off pretty quick below 25Hz and you really want to stay pretty flat to 20Hz for home theater. But that kind of sub will cost you 3-4x this amount for anything of quality.

Erin considers the R12 the best of the budget subs. The JBL sadly isnt included:

The JBL is sealed and the Klipsch is ported, so the JBL should have better quality and the Klipsch should play lower.
If your use is home theater then I'd go for the Klipsch. If it is music I'd go with the JBL. I got this for my living room where I'm ok with it not playing super low. I have a Rythmik audio subwoofer in my HT for that.
With all the discounts I listed above I just ordered the JBL up for about $169. The Klipsch was on sale recently for $239. That would be 40% more.

I just looked at the svs pb1000 post for cyber Monday and it was $350 for a blemished model (If you could even get one) and that's a big if as they sold out so fast!
$180 shipped with welcome code and some cash back on top was a no brainer for my first subwoofer!
