I remember people crossing the bridge from Philadelphia into New Jersey to fill their tanks with cheaper gasoline without ever taking into consideration not only the extra gas and time to do so but the $4 toll on the bridges lolol

299.00 is roughly half price for that combo. It cost me maybe 45.00 in gas and a few hours of my time on an off day, so it was worth it to me.

I'm from MA and people would drive to tax free NH over an hour away just to not pay taxes. I never understood that.

i personally wouldn't drive the 4hrs, just isn't worth it to me... but has nothing to do with the money.

do you guys actually take leave without pay from your 9-5 job? wouldn't one do this afterhours/weekend, negating your "working" item..? my free time is free, worth 0$, it's not the hourly rate working my 9-5...
fuel wise... say it's mostly highway and you're maintaining an average of 50mph for the trip, a 4hr trip is 200 miles. if your vehicle has a modest 30mpg, that's 6.66gal, i paid 3.50$/gal here in NJ... so ~23$ for the trip in gas.
vehicle wear and tear? really what kind of vehicle do your drive that 200 miles is making or breaking it??? i drive ~700 miles/week, just for work... 200 miles ain't doing nothing my normal life isn't.

so, they added 23$ really money to the cost. i doubt they could've gotten anywhere near the same price online.

i assume you mean physically mounting it? check the manufacturers website, most make brackets for multiple sockets. i had to get one for my Noctua, which was mounted on a 9700K.

If you go in store and talk to those guys in the back (find a time when they're not busy), there are always combo deals like this. I got this same combo last week for $307 before tax, and a H100i cooler with a cheap Montech case (will be used in a separate router build) for $120 before tax. It feels kinda like they're just making them up as they go.
