I think the Oontz $30 speaker was $8 recently on SD. I talked myself out of getting them.
There are two Altec Lansing little ones. Everyone likes one and some say the other is too small/quiet/not good enough.
Can these be put into stereo mode?

Overall, for something I paid 12 bucks, three years ago, it has accompanied me on hundreds of Bike Rides, and so its been a great and reliable value. That said... You cant expect the greatest audio quality especially when riding in high traffic loud areas, its pretty great for its size, but its a physically tiny speaker that can distort at max volume. I had to select my Tracks/Albums by ear, only picking those that would actually come through banging when biking. Not to mention pump my EQ's preamp on Poweramp for extra volume boost. Like Low Freq Bassy stuff is not a strong suit here. Nor is Classical mellow stuff. Whereas Punk and Metal on the other hand, are great! as they have a lot of loud Mids and Highs for this tiny thing to project. (keep in mind, for me, the loudness requirement is higher due to using it as a BIke Speaker, I'm usually surrounded by the noise of passing cars and the like)
There is a BabyBoom XL model, which I could never find out if it had larger drivers or larger battery, I do know it has a larger size/housing so it sounds clearer on the distortion side than these. Or so I read. One huge benefit of this version has imo is its tiny size. I throw it into my plein air watercolor painting hip bag with a pocket blanket and a snack and its a proper hiking kit staple. Stop at a view, bust out the paints, the blanket and tunes and I'm golden.
FWIW: I did upgrade this past month to something new and legit amazing: The Tribit Stormbox Micro 2 ($45). And its a game changer for me. Well worth the price (since I'd ordered a couple other Larger BT speakers along with it to compare, like the very well regarded Tribit SoundMax Plus (regarded as being an excellent loud speaker at the $50 mark.) This Stormbox Micro 2 blew those out the water, despite being much smaller. This is because it uses new neodymium magnets thus has a deeper richer bass response and larger volume output. The Battery also is a whopping 4800 mAh, Most large speakers only had 2400 or so.... and here's the feature that sealed the deal... it also serves as a Powerbank. (Wat?!) It is so well suited for Bike Rides and hiking (not to mention it has a built in Strap Clip). It saddens me to retire my BabyBoom after 3 years of continuous service, but I imagine it still has a place if I want something to slip into a small pocket.
For this price I'm not expecting anything fabulous. My daughter will enjoy taking one outside with her so she can listen to music while she runs around in summer.
