Can't go wrong with a Roland. Used them for years. Roland recently updated their TD17 model, putting the older TD17s on sale. I would spend the extra $350 and get a TD17. You get a 12 snare and three 8 toms. (vs the 8 in snare and 6 inch toms on the TD07.) I've recently upgraded my kit and the pad size makes a world of difference imo.

Can anyone speak to how this is? Is it a good deal? Thinking a good gift for a parent who was a rocker back in the day before work reality hit and is retiring now with plenty of time..

It's a decent deal. This is a mid range e-kit from Roland. Most drummers would enjoy playing this. It's no substitute for a real acoustic kit though

I got this set last Fall from GC. I added a larger ride cymbal, and upgraded the snare to a stand alone one.

I'm not a good drummer, but I do alright. My son uses it for practice as well since he's in the Jazz band at school.

I paid $900 used 😂

The drummer in my dad garage band is not a fan of those white rings on the lower end Roland drum surfaces (makes the drum surface smaller). We bought a used 27kv set that doesn't have those rings... He loves that set, actually enjoys playing it more than the regular drum kit we had before that.

Great entry level kit to tool around on without bothering other people. I have a slightly upgraded version of this that I spent a lot more on, but if I was looking for a budget kit i would go for this.

I watched the video and it says it doesn't come with kick pedal.
i don't understand why they don't include everything.

Can anyone tell me how much the kick pedal costs? Can you please point me to a link where I can buy it?
I am canceling my order if the kick pedal is expensive.

Good deal but when I researched this a few years ago the 17kv felt like a much better long term investment because of the bigger snare and better brain that supported bluetooth line in.

. There is not an included specific pedal for the v drum because there are no electronics needed for it. You can use the same kind of kick pedal you would use for an acoustic kit, which can be purchased from any music retailer. Sweet water has them starting at $60 and up.

As a part time drummer in a bar band I have been crammed onto small stages that are just not fun to setup on using a traditional kit. I looked at rolan extensively and feel the TD-17KVX is the right fit for most players trying to save money. Yes it's $1,500. But you get everything most drummers need. I haven't pulled the trigger yet.

The one posted here is half the cost making it appealing as a practice kit. Not sure I'd want to roll it out live. So I guess it depends on the use case.

You can add on to these and almost every drummer has a kick pedal they can use on this. Not a bad deal. I just prefer this model for the upper mid-range.

Those 27kv sets are $2,500. Yikes!
