Main reason is screen and battery life
Garmin is best for gps accuracy especially very serious runners with their training.

I have one although I'm not the above. My main complaint is that it's finicky with Bluetooth to headphones

It is not an iPhone/watch if u want to use it as such.

Our family is also in the Apple eco system with MacBooks, mac mini, iPads and Apple Watches. I personally didn't like/want the Apple Watch experience and ultimately went with a fenix 7 sapphire solar, picking up a like-new one on FB for $500.

As mentioned how you use it and your expectations will determine what model is best for you. I wanted to focus more on health/stat tracking, like the watch form factor, the face customization and most importantly the battery life and weight. I didn't want something I needed to charge almost everyday so battery life for me is worth more than the Epix's screen and lack of solar option.

Of course now I'm on the hunt for an Enduro 2 with an even more ridiculous battery life over the 7SS or 7XSS…

Edit: all that said this is a GREAT price for an Epix 2, would totally get it if I qualified! We'll deserved for those who do, thank you for your service!

Happy I got one through my dad, who's a vet, thanks OP for pointing this out. He had a horrible time making the order, but not sure if it's because the site is glitchy or if he's 82. How buggy is the AAFES site? He even tried to give me his login info and that wouldn't work for me.

Now what to do with the unopened S62 under my Christmas tree and my almost new Galaxy 5 pro….
