I'm seeing this available for same-day delivery via Instacart so it should be available in-warehouse. Possibly for less. Instacart price is $402.99 after $100 instant savings. A 15% markup would make it around around $343. $20% around $322.

You guys complaining about toner. I've had a 11-12 year old color laser HP printer and have been using third party toner for the past 7-8 years. No real issues. I need to replace it as it's making all sorts of mechanical sounds that I don't feel like dealing with.
I'm going to look into third party toner for this model and if they have good reviews I'll probably pick this up myself.
Toner is pretty expensive, and I'm fairly certain you can't use any toner you want, right?
Like always, there are after market toners from Amazon. however looks like you need to mess around and transplant the toner chips. Mix review on the process. I just pick one up today since there is no decent AIO color laser on sale anywhere..

Have you tried photo printing? I'm curious if I can use this for home photo printing or just bar graphs and such.
I think a high end inkjet is better suited to photos. I need a fast color laserjet printer for ppt or other office docs. This printer is designed for this role.
I'm so glad I still have a M252DW that I got for $250, just wish I'd bought more. Duplex is a game-changer, and having color is amazing when you need it. The nice thing compared to inkjets is this will never make a mess, no matter what you're printing or how long you let the printer lay dormant, so long as you print once in a long while.
And yes, just don't update (aka. cripple) the firmware, and use after-market toners. Who cares how much HP charges.

Does the stock FW allow aftermarket toners?
I just picked this up to replace an HP color laser that's over 10 years old. We were getting knockoff toners at like $45-60 a set!! That's why I held onto the old one for so long, but now we get errors printed out when trying to print. Tried from diff computers and diff drivers too. And... for about a year now it makes a ton of squeaking sounds. I was going to try to figure it out, but 10+ years I think it's time to replace anyway. I'm sure more physical components will be wearing out.
