Just checked and I paid $319 June 2020 for a certified refurbished from vitamix directly. Seems like a good price for new. Wish I had one of these cool colors! Helped me lose 50 lbs so I would highly recommend Smilie

I will say if you are going to be making smoothies for 1 person more often than for 2/ a group, you will probably want the tall 64oz container or one of the smaller containers because it blends better for the smaller portion ( the tall container has a narrower base) I ended up buying a separate container later because I used it mainly for myself. ( the one included is their low profile container which fits under kitchen cabinets better but has a wide base)
Vitamix is a next level blender. Way better than black and decker, oyster, ninja, and etc. It actually liquefies the ingredients. You can make hot soup in it.
This is not a blender. This is a Vitamix!

Don't waste your time and energy for blender shopping vitamix is the one you want and eventually you will buy this if you wanna have a serious blender

I have blentec vitamix and got rid of all of bs blenders and I can tell you vitamix is the best of best it comes with 7 years warranty too

Best result reliability the first class in blender

Don't forget about blendtec. Lot cheaper on sales and compares very favorably to entry level vitamixes

I bought that too. When you run it on 9 or 10 with a thick slurry, like when making nut butter, do you hear a grinding noise and more vibration every few seconds, like the gears are slipping or working really hard? I find it very jarring (no pun intended). I dont know if its normal. And I tried to call Vitamix to hang up after 15 min on hold.
I notice the grinding notice more when blending frozen stuff. I believe it's the motor working harder when the blade hit a large frozen piece or a bunch of nuts. Same thing on my Blendtec.

Honestly I replaced my lunches with smoothies for 4-6 months and then I was just watching what I ate at other meals/ Portion size mostly. After dinner if I ever wanted something to eat I would choose an apple or some other fruit vs normal junk. Exercise for me was just an indoor bike 30min-1hr 3x a week and some basic weight lifting w/ dumbbells. nod

Congratulations on your weight loss and new lifestyle! That sounds fantastic.

My mom gave us a Vitamix probably around 15 years ago which was probably already at least 10 years old when we got it. The thing still blends stuff like a beast!

In my opinion.. not really Smilie A lot of the higher models are just bells and whistles. For the most part they perform the same.

I think a few high end ones are a tad quieter than the lowest model BUT who really compares LOUD, LOUDER and LOUDEST. There isn't a quiet one lol. My parents is a tad louder than mine (they got a costco model on sale last year after they saw mine in action) but they are both 10/10 volume tbh.

Vitamix blenders are Grade A. Nothing else comes close. I have an older model of this type, which I treat like garbage, and the thing is still going strong af 3 years later!

Honest question…. For most of my life if you needed a blender it was $39 at the department store or whatever. As far as I know, those blenders all did in fact, blend. Now here's a blender for $350 and people are excited. What happened?
Vitamix and blendtec are quite a bit different. I used to work at a smoothie shop and I would tell customers that the 'secret ingredient' was the blender. It's powerful enough to blend everything up without requiring as much water/juice as you'd need with regular quality blenders. This lets you have a lot more control on having a good thick smoothie that isn't watered down or needs to be resweetened with extra sugar to make up for the extra water required.
If you like the way your smoothies are coming out, by all means stick to a typical house blender, but vitamix earned a spot in my kitchen after years of working with them.

Also a heads up, their replacement parts are overpriced. Many of them you can find a generic replacement for much cheaper. Don't buy vitamix brand OEM parts!

The major parts that wear out on a vitamix blender are the blade assemblies on the bottom of the blender bowl, the drive socket needs replacing, or the thermal switch has gone bad (auto kill switch for when it's overheating). I would try replacing these before completely replacing it to see if it might be an easy fix. Vitamix support and replacement/repair kind of sucks.

I don't know man. I get the buy it for life thing, but I think I'd rather get a less expensive, decent, new one every ten years. Tech improves over time, and a brand new shiny blender is better than a scuffed up blender that's been used for decades.

Blendtec jar quality is poor. Depending on use frequency, plan on replacing it every year. Jars are not cheap either. I would not recommend Blendtec.

I mean, I don't know the relative frequency of my use compared to others, but my Wildside jar just passed 10 years without a blemish
