I have a few of these for lower powered devices. Bought in 2018 and just replaced the batteries this year. A few screws, pop the cover and done.

It simply doesn't have a quick pop off hatch as other UPSes. We're talking 5 minutes vs 1 minute to swap the battery every 4 to 5 years.

I got this exact model for $50 about a year ago. I use it for my modem, router, and network switch.

It came in handy earlier this year when I had a bunch of power outages (SF Bay Area) over the course of a couple of weeks. I work from home, so maintaining internet connection was awesome. I have a separate 1000VA UPS for my desktop PC setup.

This 425 VA keeps my internet alive for around 3 hours. And I got around 25-30 minutes for my PC, at which point I switched to my laptop.

Hopefully this helps folks gauge what capacity they might want/need.

Edit: Forgot to mention that I RMA'd this 425VA unit as it was emitting a high-pitched whine when powered on. I thought it was my tinnitus at first. RMA process was easy but took about 1 month from filing to receiving the replacement unit.

Just fyi, i dont think these models have usb typeB ports to allow software to safely shut down.

So it would be fine for a modem/router, but not good for a server.

Good price, but reviews state battery is not designed to be replaceable like the larger versions.

That could work. I use these

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00K8MVKTA

Both have slightly more amps, at 5ah vs the OEM rated 4.5ah. I've been using Mighty Max Battery replacements and they've been solid for me.

Would this work for a synology and modem/router? Also how long would it stay in for?

It would work fine for either. However, it doesn't have a USB port to connect to the Synology, so the Synology will not shut automatically when there is loss of power or the battery is low.

Had one of these catch fire on me. I think I'll stick to normal surge protectors.

This has been great for the real quick power outages that last a second. Keeps things on versus having to start up again (especially when in meetings)
