PSA: Frontier Airlines is Cracking Down on Personal Item Size

Deal Details
The Frontier gate agents are strictly enforcing personal size at the gate. All personal items must fit in the metal bin at the gate without any pressure or force. These agents are a hired by a third party company and receive commission for each bag charged at the gate.
Personal item dimensions are 14 x 18 x 8. If your personal item does not fit without force they will charge you $100 for a "carry on" at the gate (each direction). Pro tip: you can purchase the carry on on the frontier website for $60 instead, as long as you can make the purchase before the door closes. The gate agents don't like this because they lose their commission. Be careful this holiday season.

Doesn't look like they are doing it again this year.
I tend to avoid any spirit or frontier flight after noon due to their tendency to be delayed.
Although in this economy I'm finding myself walking around the neighborhood as a vacation.
Also they will charge you $10-$25 if you need to speak to an agent and get assistance.
When you hire a subcontractor to make sure your customers will never return... Sounds like they're wrapping up business already. Flew with them once many years ago, with only a backpack and it was great considering how cheap the flight was, but good to know that I better avoid them nowadays.

This time they made pretty much everyone.
Fail #2 - Flying with FA
Rather pay the extra $60 to just fly SWA at this point

I've used Frontier for years generally without issue. These last couple trips they've been awful. Had a 16 hour delay in November. The reps disappear and you are just stuck in the airport overnight. Can't call or chat with anyone at Frontier. A couple weeks ago they cancelled my return flight and gave me no other flight options until 3 days later. Booked a rental car to drive the 850 miles home. They then uncancelled the flight but with a smaller plane and no guarantees we'd get a seat. It took 16 1/2 hours of driving pretty much non-stop to get home.
