- HDR10+ (mostly for Samsung TVs) is only available on the new model. Dolby Vision and other formats are still available on the previous gen model.
- The Apple TV remote is USB-C with the new model, the previous gen remote has a lightning port
- Thread and Ethernet support is available across the previous gen model. If you want one or both options on the current gen device, you need to get the 128gb version. If you don't care about smart home devices and only use wifi, then this point is moot.
Yes the new model has the A15 processor while the last gen model has the A12. However, practically unless you're playing some heavy games, then you'll not notice the difference.
This is a fabulous deal IMO, especially since it's from Costco and this falls under their "anytime for any reason" return policy.
Edit: If you think 32gb of storage is a factor, then consider this: Unless you download huge games, then you'll forget it's "just 32gb". Seriously, you'll be fine unless you subscribe to literally hundreds of streaming services and download many films/tv shows offline (which I'm not sure you can do unless it's via the Apple TV app I think?).
