If you need/use a fingerprint reader on a regular basis - stay away from this phone.

The inbuilt fingerprint reader is atrocious compared to my 3 year old Note 10, to the point I was getting locked out of my work apps that required biometric login. THis wasn't even with a screen protector.

I ended up returning to my Pixel 4a, and it's flawless rear mounted fingerprint sensor.
I've had no issues with the fingerprint reader on my 6a
Still rocking a pixel 3. I want to upgrade but this thing works really well and battery life is still good. I'll continue to wait it out

The difference is night and day depending on screen protector use.

I also loved the rear mount on the 3a, but it feels much more normal to use my thumb with one hand to press the front of the screen to unlock.

You're right! Though I noticed the trade in offers are much lower now. That's a bummer

Coming from a 4a and hearing how bad the screen fingerprint reader was, Im confused because it works fine. Wondering if it sucked when first released but subsequent updates fixed any issue because I have none.

I also never use screen protectors

What's the consensus on the 6a vs 7? I can get the 7 for $440 after tax on Ebay.

The fingerprint reader sucks. This is not a lie. The phone also gets hot. For some reason my phone would restart randomly once in a while. I got rid of it and bought a like new used Pixel 6 for around 200. Same problem with the fingerprint reader though but I still like it more than the 6a.

By the way the best thing about amazon price matching is that now they will lower the used ones. Keep an eye open and you can probably find an acceptable for 220 that might have a tiny scratch as the only thing wrong with it.

Not sure how long u kept the 6a, but that and the 7 series need a good 7 days before it really adapts to your usage and acts normally.

First week with the 7, it was hot and battery life sucked. Then it just magically improved and it runs cool and battery life is excellent.

I gave my mom my 6a (77 years old) and I got a 7.

She is blown away by the upgrade from her 3 GB of RAM moto and for me the 7 is the perfect phone (size, clean Android, speed, screen, camera and look). Would of loved the telephoto but that size on the 7 pro just doesn't work for me. 7 camera is very solid.

$140 is probably worth it for the 7 brand new over the 6a.

I'm not sure what you are waiting on. With trade in of the 3, the p7 was around $200 during black friday.
