  • About this book:
    • Psychiatrist Viktor Frankl's memoir has riveted generations of readers with its descriptions of life in Nazi death camps and its lessons for spiritual survival. Between 1942 and 1945 Frankl labored in four different camps, including Auschwitz, while his parents, brother, and pregnant wife perished. Based on his own experience and the experiences of others he treated later in his practice, Frankl argues that we cannot avoid suffering but we can choose how to cope with it, find meaning in it, and move forward with renewed purpose. Frankl's theory-known as logotherapy, from the Greek word logos ("meaning")-holds that our primary drive in life is not pleasure, as Freud maintained, but the discovery and pursuit of what we personally find meaningful.

I saw this famous intellectual NY book reviewer reading this book in the hotel lobby, and a very shapely young lady walked by, and the reviewer put down the book and walk after her. Go figure.

"[T]here are two races of men in this world, but only these two -- the "race" of the decent man and the "race" of the indecent man. Both are found everywhere; they penetrate into all groups of society. No group consists entirely of decent or indecent people." -Viktor Frankl

Thanks, Kayne recommended this on Twitter right before he got banned. But seriously, I hope it's a good read. I grabbed the paperback which is a good price too (https://urlhasbeenblocked/product/0807014273).

edit: how dissapointing... slickdeals is blocking camelcamelcamel??? Why not let us link to price history?

Yes, if you're looking for a read that is the opposite, inverse and antithesis of the trivialities of social media this is a worthy read which will remain with you 10,000x longer than a tiktok or Kanye's latest upchuck.

Memories of required reading for psych 101 in college. It was indeed a great read.

Don't stare to long into the abyss and live in the moment.
