We got the EX-4S (not 4+ -- this one here has a bigger screen than the 4S) from Costco during the start of the pandemic. Paid $800 - $100 Shop Card and thought that was a great deal. Bike works great, but we use Qdymos Swift app and don't use their display (I sold it). The bike is fantastic, and I use it for Peloton classes (also has auto magnetic resistance, at least the 4S does)

I bought one yesterday but haven't opened it up yet. The negative reviews involve bad Bluetooth connection which controls the resistance but this isnt happening with the majority of buyers. With the Costco return policy it's more than worth risking getting a lemon or not. Assuming the Bluetooth works this seems like a no brainer for a couple hundred more than the Walmart deal. Not to mention the free echelon plus for a year.
Bought this 5 days and used it 5 times. I also owned a IC4 3 years ago before I moved. This bike is def a better build quality. Thicker metal. Sturdier. IC4 was a well built bike as well this is just better.
It does have some negative reviews. But it only has 70 reviews total. 30ish are one start and about 5 mention bluetooth problems.
So far I've had 2 issues. Called and chatted with Echelon twice. Both times were fairly quickly. First was even though I followed the on screen choices I didn't get the 1 year free when signing up. Spoke to someone, they asked me to email them a picture of the receipt and the next day I had the 1 year added.
Second my blue light on the front of the handle bar post doesn't come on. Its should light up steady blue when the bike is connected to a device (screen or phone) or blink blue when the bike is not connected. Mine hasn't been on for the first 3 rides at all , now the last 2 its comes on half way through and stays lit, its odd. By the next ride when I pedal it does not come back on. There is some issue with just the light. My bluetooh works fine though. I'm able to connect to the screen or to my phone easily. I spoke to Echelon and the Tier 1 person said that he understand everything I explained and will have to send it to Tier 2 to figure out the best possible fix. Either a new handle bar post if they think if its just the led light itself. Or a new board if they think its the power inside the bike. Or another options is I just ignore it since it doesn't affect the bike in anyway except seeing the light. If its a new board there is a decent amount of work to get into the bike, I'm handy so I'm sure I can do it, just don't know if I want to go through it.
But so far it seems Echelon is pretty decent with taking care of stuff. Plus there is always return to Costco down the road if Echelon doesn't do the right thing.
Lastly really enjoying the live classes with all the metrics on the screen Peloton style.
Are you renewing the membership or going with the freeride or side loading apps?
Do you know how to side load apps? Jailbreak echelon; I have been looking for an upto date how to diy; but so far no luck. Have a 4s+ that I paid 700$ a year ago with no annual membership; and has been serving me as a coat rack ever since, as I refuse to paint her 40+ monthly.

I found this but haven't opened mine up yet to try. Unsure if doing this prior to exhausting the 1-year membership will mess up that membership. Or we can just re-download the Echelon app and go from there.

I followed some of those tutorials others have referenced and now watch Netflix on my screen of my EX5s and have my phone on a little holder running the qDomyoswift app ($5 one time buy) and have it sync to Peloton app on my phone ($10 month). I like it.

It's also Costco so worst case it's a simple return.
But the wife wants to do the courses and Costco comes with 1 year of it plus an upgraded bike. And it's Costco.
Guess I'll try it and if it's a miss, it'll to back.

lol
And its good some actual people are given reviews here because we saw it in store also. Bad thing is it will probably be gone by the time we get back.
