Depending on how one values their time, the 1 hour spent posting on eBay and preparing the bridge for mailing might actually result in a net loss

To add to this, I usually find a similar listing and click on the "Sell one like this" button on eBay mobile. It prefills everything and then you just need to add your own pictures and your custom description and that's it.

On another note, perfect for someone who can get rid of the hub easily and then buy something else to stack for Amex $25 off/$250 offer.

I've sold a handful of the Hue Bridges and found them to be an easy sell locally (OfferUp), usually not lasting more than a few hours at the right price.

Aside from that, selling on ebay is also very quick and easy, assuming you have packing materials available. It should only take an hour if you're planning to mail it from a post office and buying the materials there

Can anyone chime in on the bulb value compared to Wiz and Kasa? Currently have a few of those and they seem good for the $5-$10 a piece they cost VS these at like $25 ish a piece.

I haven't used those bulbs but Hue bulbs are fantastic and very reliable.

I have hue now, but started with wiz, honestly imo the user interface is better with Wiz. If you want to do automation and truly customize the lights then Hue. But for simple functionality of lights with some smart features, Wiz I think is better.

I have both Kasa and Hue and don't really see a difference between them. I switched to hue because I have too many devices on the 2.4ghz wifi band and this freed up some of the bandwidth. If you don't have a lot of items on 2.4, go with Kasa. You may also want to look at Lowes and pickup Cree smart bulbs [lowes.com]. They have a 2-pack of 100w (15W) for 14.99. Some stores have them on clearance. The app is also easy to use.

I have mostly Hue bulbs. The 2 Kasa bulbs I own have beautiful colors but curiously they have no way to color loop (cycle through different colors). I hope they fix that.

Hue is the standard in color bulbs but you pay a price for them. I can't justify the price for white bulbs as others look the same but for colored bulbs they definitely are better.

Personally for me "White" bulbs/strips = GE Reveal or equivalent. "Color" bulbs/strips = Hue. Look for something with a CRI rating of 90+ and you can't go wrong. https://www.flexfireleds.com/colo...at-is-cri/ And if the CRI rating isn't listed on the box it's probably because it's not good.

some of us are crazy and have gone so deep down the hue rabbit hole that we actually NEED an extra hub.

Anyway, seems like a really good deal, especially with the $60 GC

Yeah I do network security for a living, and having light bulbs connect to Wifi is just freaking insane. That alone cuts the field down to pretty much just Philips Hue and Lutron Casetta for me, easy choice Wink
