I grabbed one earlier from the 2tb deal thread for this SSD because I was too late for the 2tb one. 1tb for now should be fine and the price is pretty good for a drive+ full heatsink that is for sure fast enough for the PS5.

So annoyed lol. Got this on black friday with no heatsink and it was $93 no tax, so with tax probably $97 ish. If I could return and buy this with the heatsink I would.

What's the performance of this compared to Samsung 980 Pro or Western Digital SN850x?

Anyknow also know how the built in encryption works? How do you enable it?

I currently have a P5 1TB, but it's the PCIe gen 3 version, not the newer PCIe gen 4 version listed here.

If that is their laptop, I would go with the Hynix Gold gen 3 as it runs cooler, has stellar reviews and runs as fast as some gen 4's. I put it in my Lenovo lappy. No heat synch and it runs great. You will see zero gains on the Gen 4's(excluding benchmarks). It will go on sale about every 2 to 3 weeks for $80ish to $140ish(2gig)

Seems like this would be a good drive for the PS5 with the free heat sink. Have there been any reviews showing whether this slightly slower Gen 4 drive compares in the PS5 to other faster drives?
