That's a really good question. The parts of this on the surface are a great price. The downside is the build quality of the HP omens I have opened have been horrific. I have not opened this new series omen but the older ones, wow. I remember one that had a no name brand GPU with only one fan, mounted upside down. You will be hard pressed to upgrade half the parts. So in short build your own if you can. You will be able to upgrade a piece here and a piece there. On this one Check out a YouTube search of the model number and the word teardown to see the inside. IMHO. PS geek squad repair for 7 yrs and been building my own for 10 yrs. Good luck and happy gaming.

Stay away from these desktops. Parts are proprietary and often they have limitations like cooling and throttling so it can't perform at their full capacity.

HP 25L's are notorious for having bad thermals due to poor case design with regards to cabinet venting (or lack of). Also if you're hoping increase the RAM the newer 25L's that have the RGB LED HyperX memory require HP HyperX memory modules to run at full speed of 32000 MHz. Boo!

it doesn't. HP uses garbage motherboards and garbage coolers. i had 3 friends/family come to me with their omen 30L they bought during the pandemic that are all overheating and throttling. HP is putting 45W coolers on CPUs designed to turbo and draw up to 180W.

their motherboards also contribute to heat issues. HP motherboards use very underpowered and inefficient VRMs that dump extra heat into the case around the CPU making it even more difficult to cool the CPU

I just finished buying parts for a 13600k DDR 5 build (no GPU, going to use my old one for now) and it came out to a bit under 1K; but 2TB Samsung 980 Pro, 32GB Ram; z690 board

Basically, if you SD, You can probably build 2K worth of PC for just a bit more than this, assuming you are willing to either go AMD gpu or wait/buy a used NVidia.
