It's less widely reported but yes, they still have mechanical switches (buttons) so double clicking will occur. The only Logitech mice where this won't eventually happen is the new G502 X series.

Bought 3 when they first came out for family/friends. One had double click after less than a year, another one developed year and a half into usage. Third one is still going strong. The only difference between them is that two are used by gamers and third is used by someone who occasionally uses it. From what I read and from my own experience here, it's mostly just a matter of # of clicks you subject to the mouse. They seemed to start wearing out when a few hundreds of thousands of clicks are made. Your mileage may vary, of course, but quality switches can endure millions of clicks and these ain't 'em. Logitech didn't make a great choice going with what they have in these mouses, especially considering the "gaming" moniker on this model.

I still use the G305 on a laptop at my desk but have decided to try the Corsair Katar Elite since the Logitech always seemed to have latency and click issues. So far so good, and its SOOOOO much lighter and is rechargeable (via USB-C). Warning though, the battery only lasts like 4 days if the RGB is on and its basically a dead ringer as far as size, but literally 2/3 the weight. 68 grams for corsair vs 96 grams for the logitech w/ AA battery.

I bought a 3rd one for my wife for Christmas.

First had double click issue. Replacement was smooth. Tried it on the kids' computer before tossing the first one and it started working ok. Has been going for months again. Second one has been fine.

Good enough mouse to roll the dice on.

Does anyone knows if its gonna have the double click issue after 2-ish yrs like the g502 and g pro
I used the wired version (g203) until it developed double click issues. I switched to this mouse (g305), and less than a year in it developed double click issues. I bought new switches, desoldered the old switches, soldered on the new ones. They lasted a month before the double click issue came back. Everything else about this mouse is awesome.

What's the point of the USB extender that comes with this? Just so it can be closer to the mouse?

It's a wireless mouse. The USB receiver connects to the mouse and back to desktop or laptop.

Yes, for sure. But it comes with a USB cord extension to plug the connector into. Why the extender?

Anyone know if this is marked clearance at GameStop in store? Normally mine - anything marked clearance also gets another 50% off. Just curious thanks.

I use the extender to put the receiver on my desk. it also helps in a media center configuration, when the PC is not visible
