Not sure about this one. Friends of ours has the Ooni and we have had their pizza a few times, its really good. Like really good. Been holding out on getting our own Ooni since the price tag is just way over our budget at this time. Was really hoping to get the Ooni for $300 during BF/CM but no luck.

Should i just go with this one for $220 and call it a day, or is there a huge difference between Onni and all the other brands out there.

Edit. I checked out the reviews on amazon and decided to buy it. Thanks
this looks like a regular home oven but portable. the burner is on the bottom, below the stone so the stone will get nice and hot and maintain the heat throughout the cook. but, if you want the top to cook, you have to close the oven door, jsut like your home oven. if you dont close it, the heat wont stay in and cook the top.

you wont get super nice char on top of the pizza like you would with a ooni oven but this should suffice for the most basic basic pizza making.

if you can get a used ooni koda 12 in a decent condition at the same price point, id easily suggest the used ooni koda 12 over this thing.

I was going to buy one for my son, but he cooks on a Traeger pellet grill all the time, and I did a little research and read that you can definitely make pizza on a pellet grill. Looks like a good deal if you can use it.

You should get him the green mountain grills pizza oven attachment for his Traeger. It's pretty universal so should fit. I have one for my camp chef and love it. It's usually around 125.

Not sure about pellet grill but I do make it on the propane grill all the time. All you need is pizza stone. I do get it up to 600+ before I put it in and comes out perfect every time.

I had one of the first generation Ooni pellet grills and it had a lot of trouble staying lit and getting the stone warm enough. I hope they fixed that. I don't see why you can't toss a few pellets somewhere in this one to get that smoky flavor Smilie

i cant recommend ayone get a wood or pellet version of the Ooni for a couple reasons:

- the type/brand of pellet matters. some burn hotter and longer and others don't.
- and you also have to manage airflow so the pellets burn optimally. cant overload the hopper
- with wood, you need to start it with charcoal, then add small wood chunks to get some high heat in the oven.
- and when you run low, you have to add more pellets or wood and wait till they burn and get the oven and stone to temp.

its too much micro management with wood and pellets. with gas, just attached propane, light it up you are ready to go in 30 mins.

i guess if you go camping alot or are outdoors, pellets/wood options is better since you dont have to carry around propane tank.

Kodas are all gas. Frya is only pellets. Karu's are wood/pellet/charcoal but supposed an add-on gas burner.

You add the coupon DECO when checking out and it brings it down to $220.
