Not sure why it wouldn't. Where did you see that? Not sure that would make sense.
Know what you're getting into here. If you only need one or two cards MAX!!! this might be ideal for you. It may not be even with two depending on card material (plastic, metal, thickness).
I returned mine.
I haven't carried a normal wallet for years. My card wallet has been a card holder that sprang out of a college class project. I've carried the 8-card aluminum version daily in my right front pocket for five years now, and can't imagine using anything else: https://decadentminimal

The Apple wallet was ok. Having to wait for it to stretch out wasn't for me. Getting cards out was a PITA. I had my Apple card (titanium) and my Verizon visa (metal). Also my ID. If I put them in all the way, it would take me a good 5 minutes to get them out. If I had just 2, it was mostly ok. Good for travel and you only need 2 cards. Not feasible for me.

It is a tight squeeze for 3 cards. My solution is to make sure the inside card has raised lettering (run of the mill credit card) so that I can get the card removal started with a fingernail / have some purchase on something. To me, this tradeoff is worth it to have 2 cards and an ID rather than a full-on wallet. That said, once you use for 3 cards and stretch the leather a bit, if you go back to 2 cards they will be somewhat loose and liable to fall out in the wrong conditions.
Also: same color/model, mine has slowly been disintegrating and losing stitching at the edges on a shorter timeline than expected, with generally light-to-medium use. The leather doesn't age in an "elegant" way, if that makes sense. Worth thinking about if looks matter to you.

Like the Best Buy wallet, this does not support the FindMy feature.
I bought one of these from the insanely good Verizon $15 sale a few months ago - these were FindMy enabled.
I was hesitant at first if I could truly replace my wallet but found one credit card, my DL and a couple of folded bills fit fine. It seems like 99% of the stores I shop at support Apple Pay and the CC I only use for gas stations and the rare non-Apple Pay stores. The rest of the cards I had in my wallet e.g., Costco, Insurance, ATM, Clipper etc are all replaced with apps/Apple wallet cards. I have fully transitioned.
Regarding FindMy, I have to disagree with the posters who say it's useless. It is not like an Airtag, you can't find it. Instead, it records the last location where it was detached; if I ever lose this, that will be helpful information for attempting to find my wallet.
And for me I started to realize carrying my money clip that mainly holds my credit cards and license was the same thing if not better and was already paid for.
So I sold my leather MagSafe wallet.
And yes it can only hold 2 or 3 cards and overall it was a pain to get the cards out. Do you want to fidget with taking your credit card out? This is for you.
Overall just found it underwhelming. The idea is better than the reality.
