The 32GB version is only five dollars more ($44.99), which is fairly cheap to double the memory. If you want small and light, these serve the purpose, but an old cellphone will do the same thing, or you can find pay-as-you-go phones cheap on clearance frequently.

I loved these almost 10yrs ago. I still have a purple and silver one which still works. I think it was the model before the one being sold today.

There was someone in a thread here a few years ago that named some cheaper foreign brands that are available on ebay. I remember when I looked them up didn't have that bad of reviews.

I get that it's nice to have a dedicated mp3 player, but it's a hassle to have an extra device when your phone can already do it and more.

I remembered playing Doom on these badboys, fun times. But those days have passed, nowadays even 40 bucks is too much for ancient tech like this.

I can't believe they still make these. They were great back in the day. Could link with a Rhapsody account and take your streaming music with you as long as you connected to the PC every 10 days or something. Of course, there is basically no need for these any more.

Yes, only if you hack it and put in a custom OS, and it gives you the best sound for bucks. I think I mod something similar to this a long time ago.

Now that these have Bluetooth, I can definitely see how they are better than lugging a massive phone around when running or working out.

^^^ It's bluetooth 2.0 according to the reviews and is atrociously bad in every aspect. I'm skipping this unfortunately..
