Wow that worked! I will rep. you. In case the SD link above doesn't work, after you login as SmartSeed says, copy and paste this URL in your browser. https://tps.fidelity.com/tps-api/v1/redirect-to/turbo-tax-cd?fidelityContextCode=oltx
Then I logged into Intuit. It showed up as $105, but I did the trick someone else suggested to add a random Intuit product to the cart, then delete it. Then I was able to check out for $5.41 (tax in TX).
i got so many messages about this. let me answer you all here once in for all. you need to go the beta view to see the offer.
I have the premier offer under the beta view, but when I click to the turbotax website it still gives me only $20 off, even though fidelity says premier for free w/ state. Called Fidelity, they know about the issue and said to wait until the new year as they are working on the problem.

Wrong. It's $1m, or $500k if you have significant retirement assets as well.
And it looks like you may also need to have an assigned advisor as well. Been getting this offer for several years as I meet both of these requirements, is Private Client Group, and also had an assigned advisor. Also made less than a dozen trades.
Just checked and no offer and no assigned advisor. Relative who has this offer has less assets/also less than a dozen trades but do have an assigned advisor.
You do realize that the real TT deals don't start until after Christmas, right??? Right now, they are taking advantage of the people who need it early for tax planning or who just don't wait for a deal.
Almost as bad as the people who sign up to buy it automatically from Intuit every year.
I think someone said the best TT deals is right after Chrismas, usually from Amazon. This held true last year, so I'm hoping the same this year.
It doesn't, but you want to click on the link and at least get started now to lock in the free offer. I typically skip ahead to the file page and "pay" for my return filing before I'm even ready to file, just to get it out of the way. Don't wait until April 1 to click on the link because it may not be there at that point.
Well, that's interesting. I've never seen that offer before. Not a bad deal if you don't need to file a state return (which is still $39 using that offer), or need to use the online version instead of the download.

I have been saying this for a long time now. While some people who do not have an assigned rep do get the offer, there are way more cases where someone SHOULD have had it but did not and do not have an assigned rep. Is your relative a Private Client customer?
No PDF or Spreadsheet Imports. Users cannot import W-2 or 1099 forms into FreeTaxUSA. Users must transcribe information from their tax documents into the software.
I do not see it is a viable option for those that have brokerage accounts and want to import scehdule D transactions or MLP K-1
You are correct, though they have added W-2 pdf import this year. If you're a day trader or have complex brokerage accounts I can understand fully wanting to stick to a TT or another vendor.
TurboTax had screwed up my schedule D the previous last two years running from the import, and had to enter everything by hand anyway.
Anyone saying FreeTaxUSA is better from a usability standpoint is just a complete shill. There's nothing good about it other than it being cheap.
Last year FTU found a 401k double contribution penalty for me that saved me 5 figures. TurboTax didn't, neither did their "expert" accountant who "personally reviewed" my filing.
It got me my entire $199 back because they admitted that neither the automated system or their expert found it. It took longer (4 hours) waiting on hold and for their customer service to refund me than it did to file from start to finish with FTU.

Premium but with an advisor. I'm Private Client and lost advisor.
