Yes, R series < U series. No quantum dots for starters.

Sorry for the dumb question but is this TV good for gaming? Native refresh is 60Hz with MotionRate 240. Would I need something with 120Hz native or am I overthinking? TIA

I have the U6, not this exact TV but the one with Google TV and my experiences so far has been puzzling.

According to rtings, this is pretty highly rated but my experience is not the same. It's not a bad TV but no matter what I adjusted I couldn't even get it to match the color reproduction on my Onn QLED (a cheapo TV from Walmart but it has amazed me and gave me surprises after surprises. It has very nice picture quality and the sound is amazing, you can probably get by without a soundbar), let alone the VIzio OLED in my bedroom.

I think maybe the settings or the adjustment on Google TV is not conducive to picture quality adjustments. Maybe you will have better luck with the Fire TV OS but I would advise to keep your expectations in check and rtings is not everything when it comes to buying TV.

I've read similar things about the U6H with Google, users saying that picture adjustments don't affect the menu/OS screens and that likely the native source overrides the user calibrated settings, but not for all apps. On different inputs it's not an issue just within the TV OS I think.

My thesis on why the 58" is cheaper than the 55" is that the 58" panels are of inferior quality since it is not used in the high-end TVs.
If that's a thesis, then I'm the queen of England. The reason this is made in a 58" is because it's the largest size TV Amazon permitted Hisense to make. Amazon most certainly doesn't want any undue competition for their grossly overpriced Omni QLED line that just came out. $600 for a 65" and $1100 for a 75" at this writing.

In August I purchased a Hisense 70" Android A65G Series from Sam's on special for $429.00 I compared it to the 55" TCL 55US that it was replacing and the picture on the TCL was superior. I had to play with the adjustments quite a bit to acheive a satisfactory picture as compared to the TCL.

Why are you looking for Atmos on a $400 TV? Decent soundbars or receivers that can do Atmos are about that price, and literally their only job is sound.

Aint nobody buying a discount $400 TV based upon it's superior Dolby Atmos support, which has zero utility unless you have really expensive speakers built-in AND are planning to only use the built-in speakers.
Atmos settings is not for TV speakers. Anyone with an atmosphere surround sound will know that.

Price dropped another $50, down to $350. Put an order in as a gift to family, so now need to work to cancel the $500 Hisense 65U6H I ordered through Walmart.
