Aint nobody buying a discount $400 TV based upon it's superior Dolby Atmos support, which has zero utility unless you have really expensive speakers built-in AND are planning to only use the built-in speakers.

Is it worse in picture quality than this one?

According to rtings, this is pretty highly rated but my experience is not the same. It's not a bad TV but no matter what I adjusted I couldn't even get it to match the color reproduction on my Onn QLED (a cheapo TV from Walmart but it has amazed me and gave me surprises after surprises. It has very nice picture quality and the sound is amazing, you can probably get by without a soundbar), let alone the VIzio OLED in my bedroom.
I think maybe the settings or the adjustment on Google TV is not conducive to picture quality adjustments. Maybe you will have better luck with the Fire TV OS but I would advise to keep your expectations in check and rtings is not everything when it comes to buying TV.
