I don't need it but I bought it.....
I had a camera break. Allstate ran me in circles wanting info on the item and never paid up. I wouldn't put any faith in that warranty.
Construction seems real solid and it puts out power just fine, I tested it with a 6amp belt sander I also tried to power up a 1.5 hp 8 gallon air compressor but that was a no-go.
I have a 2k Wen generator 1700/2000, construction seems more solid on the Firman but it's also 10+lbs heavier and louder. I don't know that I would notice a difference in weight or sound unless they were side by side. The Wen was able to power the air compressor however it did take a couple tries.
As of right now the Firman at $217 seems to be a much better value than the Wen but the Wen was new and has a 3 year warranty.
