I'm 4+ hours away from the nearest Microcenter. Does anyone know if a reputable service like a long distance doordash?

Another rebranded Tong Fang laptop just like XMG, Eluktronics, CyberPowerPC.

They should be top quality but the after sales services might not be the best compared to lenovo.

14-days return policy works for me. Store is about 40 minutes away.

That is interesting, I don't know that. Thanks for sharing.

Given that this is a recycled/regurgitated platform, does anyone know if it can actually handle the heat of a 12900H and 3070Ti?

I'm thinking about buying this for video editing. I bought the Walmart legion 5 pro deal for $1099 but it came defective and they never sent a replacement so I'm looking at other options, this seems like a winner. Any reason to get the $100 cheaper amd version??

I got the last one in stock reserved, I went in to pick it up tonight from microcenter in Los Angeles.

Long story short I spent 20-30 minutes just browsing the web on the display, watching youtube videos. Getting a feeling for the keyboard, speakers ect.

I ended up disregarding the purchase, heres why:

The keyboard feels cheap, keys feel hollow.
The speakers are disgusting, no depth, leaves you wanting more.
The reviews of overheating and throttling were confirmed by a salesman.
The whole chassis is plastic and flimsy.
Reviews state that they were concerned about the RAM in particular, one even mentions burn marks on the paper of the RAM.

Regardless of its amazing specs, I had to pass on it.

If you do get the last one I turned down at LA Microcenter, make sure you get a laptop cooler and undervolt the GPU to avoid overheating and throttling.. if that even helps. Some reviews I found on reddit said that the cooler helped but it still throttled.

Not sure if I passed up a fixable problem or avoided a lemon. I didnt want to risk it since I got a newer model N2 of the ROG G15 Advantage Edition and im quite happy with it for 1099 deal.

Well crap. I see that both the AMD and Intel versions are both now $1200, and it looks like it's only the CPU that's different. Anyone have reviews/opinions on Maingear laptops in general, and what would be the better CPU. I see the previous post warning about overheating and the GPU getting throttled with the Intel CPU; does the AMD version have the same issue?

Amd cpu should be better on throttling as it uses less power

Specs look awesome but I still don't know about buying a small brand gaming laptop. My Alienware had it's share of (minor) hiccups and even though Dell support isn't the greatest it's miles better than no support.
