Technically it's an aRGB fan and it's compatible with iCUE which is what makes it expensive. You can connect a generic RGB fan to the controller but you won't get most of the lighting effects.

This fan pairs well with the Corsair 4000X/5000X cases btw, as a rear exhaust.

Good deal, though it would be nice if the LL120 were on sale too.

not a good deal 15 for a small usb fan are you out of your mind mr consumer lol, also there is corsair 3x of these with the fan controller hub for 40 earlier this year at bestbuy would rather wait for that or find something cheaper if you're in need for 1x rgb fan. edit~ it say elite fan nvm but still 15 for some fan just buy a real fan a ghetto out your case haha.

Well said, sir. Thanks.

That is my use case, hence my original comment. iCUE is really nice, in my opinion.

I may be wrong but IIRC the 3 for 40 with fan controller we're the Pro version not the Elite.

Does anyone know of any high-speed (2500 RPM) RGB fans?

Just a heads up. Corsair has a 3 pack of the black 120 mm elites with the lighting node (refurb) for 47.99. I've previous bought refurbs items from corsair and they've been in great condition despite generic packaging. https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Cat...0109-WW/RF

I used to internally mock people who obsessed about LEDs in a computer and now after building my own PC I'm doing the same. I wish these fans had rings like the CoolerMaster Halo MF120. That side profile lighting is critical in any building with a clear panel. Example: https://everyhometech.com/wp-cont...halo-1.jpg

Why iCUE? Why not something like aura sync? What's the advantage of iCUE over others?

I had 6 of these and they only lasted a year and a half or so; the first thing to go was the "outer" LEDs on each fan. Fine, not great but I can turn off those and just run the inner ones. Still looks cool.

Annnnd then they started forcing the outside lights on BY THEMSELVES, and not even staying uniformly lit; they would go randomly super bright white/yellow/pink/off again/then rainbow strobe lights lol.

It didn't matter what I did in the software, either. The only way I could get it to stop was to unplug the entire fan itself from the light hub (and keep it plugged into the power so I still had a functional fan).

Bottom line, they look ok for a while but they are a waste. WAY too many wires to try and route (2 per fan) so it's hard to keep them looking nice.

I would suggest you spend more and get the Lian Li fans that snap together. The lighting effects are way better, the fans themselves are mechanically better (move more air with less noise), and you only have to route one set of wires per "run"—meaning each set that are snapped together consecutively.

The newest ones, the "Infinity" models, have these awesome hologram panels/centers, but all 3 series that I've seen look dope as hell. Software is awesome too! (ICue sucks)

Just built my first gaming PC this past week. My RAM has RGB and there is a few RGB's on my mobo.

(1) If I buy these Corsair fans can I control everything from within Corsair iCUE? Right now I'm just using my mobo's software (ASRock Polychrome)j.

(2) If I buy some other brand ARGB fans (e.g. Fractal) can I control them using iCUE?

Thanks for the help. New at this.

Built a PC with 3x of these and 2x of the SP140s in a white NZXT H210. They look great, very quiet and no issues so far. Good deal, I had to pay close to $25 a fan for the 120 (3 pack with the controller) and over $30 each for the 140s (2 pack with controller).

I always thought these were fun but I've never had a desktop sit anywhere you could see it (especially the clear side panel. Curious, how do most of you display your rig? Do you guys have these sitting on a desk sideways?
