I've paid to hundreds of places with these cards. Only places that won't work are
- places that specifically block prepaid cards
- some subscription services
- other gift card purchases

I've made online purchases, bill payments and tax payments with this with no issue.

Sometimes I'll use mine to buy Costco gift cards since those virtually never are available at a discount.

I do the same. Family of 5, it's basically cash to us and I trust a Costco shop card more than I do VGC (they'll fix the issue).

I think it's a perfectly legitimate question to ask. There's so many shady businesses nowadays that rip people off without consequence. Consumers have to protect themselves.
