You can still do it; it is for a "student" prime account, it is free prime membership for 6 months, then a heavily discounted annual membership if you choose to keep the prime going. You just need a .edu email address and a little bit of patience (make that a lot of patience) to get it to work on Amazon. I just did it again yesterday myself. Ebay won't allow listings for an .edu email address anymore, but there are people elsewhere selling them for $5, Hafis.net is one of them and they/he is very reliable and will replace it if it doesn't work for some reason.

Just Google each thing and they pop right up. Don't waste your time trying to make one yourself-it just doesn't work. Also, on Amazon, don't bother trying to get their automatic system to pickup on the college, just click on verify it yourself via the .edu address.

I do it every 6 months or so, mainly for the video watching, but for shopping here and there on occasion.

I always wonder how can one use up every penny on the E-gift card when there is no product for exact leftover amount on the card? Say if I have $4.32 left and where do I spend to use up all $4.32? Most online merchant they won't let you specify how much you want to charge on one card.
