100 to 200 feet? What? I know these arent powerful but probably have a a tad more range than that.

No way these are 16 miles in a normal environment, but in my experience, about a mile can be expected. The two channel can be a limitation depending on your area, only because of interference from other users.

Not a bad gift for the kids. They operate on the FRS network. Better than the walkie talkies from the CB days for sure. Just remember that others can hear you. No way you get 16 miles. Perhaps 100 to 200 feet. For the price this would make a good gift to get kids involved in FRS

For those who are experienced, how would this work at a music festival? Reception there is near 0, and there are audiences of 60,000 or so. Genuinely interested in getting for that alone.

Check Amazon. There are some pretty decent ones for not much more that i'd trust more.

Wow, what should we trust nowadays? Company claims a 16 mile range vs 200 feet. That's a huge difference.

I got something from Amazon today with 20k reviews and rated 4.5 stars. The range is about 900 feet per the description.

Thinking if I should get this instead but need longer than 200 feet
