Amazon told me I last purchased Apr 2022 for $18.46

The straps that hold the band down usually snap off during year 2 for me, battery never dies (replacing is not fun, few screws on back but the gasket does not fit back in the watchback nicely)

For the price, I can't really find a "cheap beater watch" that beats this. If anyone has a suggestion, let me know. Otherwise I'll keep buying a new one of these every 3-4 years until the strap breaks... I wear this every day, wash it in the sink, get chemicals on it, hit it on equipment, etc.

It's not better. The button are so easily pressed, it would change with just your knocking softly on your watch. Have to constantly adjust the watch. Like you, I am constantly looking for a beater watch just for time timer and stopwatch function. Any Addons would be a plus

Those are nicknamed "bull bars" after the truck accessory that serves the same purpose... shielding the front from impacts. Also like on trucks, they've gone from a utilitarian field modification by people who actually need it, to mostly a style thing by people who like showing off how tough their gear looks. On the casio you can snap the bars on and off the watch as needed. If you're doing something where your watch is likely to get walloped ron the dial, they might save the day. Downside is they mar the bezel where they rub on it, partially block your view of the dial, and can get snagged on things, which can damage the watch and possibly the wearer. A lot of people also think they look kinda "mall ninja" when worn day-to-day by folks trying a little too hard to look tacti-cool.
