I bought this one to replace a 1060 6GB in my daughter's PC. I think the card is a Dell that I bought off Craigslist for $125 in 2019. Thought about the ASRock one for $216 on Newegg or the PowerColor Fighter at Microcenter for $229, but I think this one looks the best out of the 3 for a few dollars more.
Of course I also bought the 5600X to replace her 1600. I was afraid the CPU would become a bottleneck for her setup.
She has the MSI B450 Carbon Pro motherboard and plays VR Chat on a Valve Index, hopefully it will be a good upgrade for her. I built the PC for Christmas 2019.
Video card shopping has been nerve racking for me. For a few dollars more you can get X. And for a few dollars more than that you can get Y. Keeping in mind her setup and what she plays (Minecraft, Roblox, VR) and if it would even matter. The only reason I even bothered is because the prices have started to come down. Lots of good deals were out there but most are expired or will arrive in January. My fault for waiting until the last minute.
The next upgrade will likely be AM5 in a year or two.
