I've been looking into these things for a while and the deal breakers between this and one of the other main competitors the Silhouette Cameo 4 for me, are:

-Cricut cutters use DRM so you have to be connected to the internet to launch their software, and only then could you go offline. The Cameo doesn't have that.

-Cricut tried to pull shenanigans by making their software a subscription but backed off when people went bananas. The fact that they tried and would have turned everyone's machines into bricks if they didn't subscribe was shitty. The Cameo has different versions of their software that provides different features if you upgrade, but once you have it it's yours, and the software is the same across all of their models.

I went with the Silhouette Cameo 4 Pro from a recent Woot deal and have yet to get it, but there are tons of comparison videos between the two models, but those reasons were big enough for me, but there are other differences that might be important to you.

I told the manager that a relative had a costco close to them that was selling the cricut for $139.99, I showed him the picture. He got on the computer and pulled up all the stores in the northeast and found multiple stores that were selling for $199.99, so he matched it to that. The store my order was matched to was Avon, MA. There were about 44 of them in stocks in the Avon MA store for anyone who lives near there.

As OP said, this is an in store deal. Every Costco manager has some discretion as to what price they can put on clearance items (and clearance price is normally notated as ending in .97). That's why clearance prices vary from store to store even in the same geographical area. $140 is a screaming deal, but zip code where OP found this would be very helpful.

I went to my local Costco and they had them at $259.99 then $60 off. Spoke with the manager and they matched the $199.99 plus the $60 off
