-Cricut cutters use DRM so you have to be connected to the internet to launch their software, and only then could you go offline. The Cameo doesn't have that.
-Cricut tried to pull shenanigans by making their software a subscription but backed off when people went bananas. The fact that they tried and would have turned everyone's machines into bricks if they didn't subscribe was shitty. The Cameo has different versions of their software that provides different features if you upgrade, but once you have it it's yours, and the software is the same across all of their models.

I went with the Silhouette Cameo 4 Pro from a recent Woot deal and have yet to get it, but there are tons of comparison videos between the two models, but those reasons were big enough for me, but there are other differences that might be important to you.
